The Chiêu Anh Các literary circle, founded by Mạc Thiên Tích in 1736, brought together many writers, intellectuals, and poets. The festival is not only an annual cultural event but also a symbol of the tradition of studiousness, love of homeland, and creative aspirations of the people of Hà Tiên.

For 290 years, the festival has preserved distinctive traditional cultural features such as the ritual of offering incense to pay tribute to the Mac family at Binh San mountain; the dazzling lantern festival on the full moon night; the first writing of the year in the spring; book and calligraphy exhibitions; street performances; and a parade of flower floats. These activities not only create a solemn and sacred atmosphere but also spread the unique cultural and artistic values of Ha Tien, the land of poetry.

In recent years, the organization of festivals has been reformed to harmoniously combine traditional rituals with modern cultural and tourism activities. Highlights include theatrical poetry recitations and painting, expanding cultural spaces with calligraphy streets, lantern festivals, releasing fish to replenish aquatic resources, and displaying commercial products and food , creating additional experiences for locals and tourists.

According to the People's Committee of Ha Tien Ward, this year's festival was organized with many rich activities reflecting traditional cultural identity. The ceremonial part was held solemnly with rituals of worshipping heaven and earth, praying for national peace and prosperity, and favorable weather; offering incense and visiting the tombs of the founding leader Mac Cuu, General Mac Thien Tich, and other ancestors.

The festival was vibrant and diverse, featuring many unique cultural, sports , and tourism activities. The calligraphy street on Dong Ho Road attracted a large number of locals and tourists who came to request auspicious calligraphy for the new year, admire the art of calligraphy, experience seal printing, and sign guest books. The Ha Tien book space and booths displaying publications from the Provincial Library, publishing houses, and schools contributed to honoring the value of knowledge and igniting a passion for reading in the community.

The "Ha Tien Past and Present" photo exhibition showcases valuable documentary images reflecting the local area's formation and development. Exhibitions of OCOP products, regional specialties, and street food create vibrant highlights, contributing to promoting Ha Tien's friendly and hospitable tourism image. Chess and Chinese chess tournaments, a photo marathon, and a calligraphy competition provide a beneficial playground for young people, encouraging creativity and community bonding.

The emotionally rich highlight of the festival is the Vietnamese Poetry Day and the cultural exchange program at the Chieu Anh Cac Literary Circle Memorial House. In a cozy setting, poems praising the homeland and country are recited amidst picturesque landscapes, evoking the spirit of the literary circles of the past. Through this, today's generation gains a deeper understanding and pride in the literary traditions of their homeland.

The art program celebrating the 290th anniversary of the Chieu Anh Cac literary circle at Tran Hau Park, combined with a fireworks display and lantern festival on Dong Ho Lake, created a dazzling and colorful spectacle. The fish release activity, aimed at replenishing aquatic resources, contributed to raising awareness of environmental protection and sustainable development.

This year's festival also marked the inauguration of the project to restore and renovate the Dong Ho - Mong Tuyet Poet Memorial House and rebuild the Tri Duc School. The project not only contributes to preserving historical and cultural values but also creates additional space for literary and artistic activities in the locality, continuing the tradition of studiousness in Ha Tien.

According to Mr. Truong Quoc Hien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tien Ward, the Tao Dan Chieu Anh Cac festival is not only a cultural activity at the beginning of spring but also an opportunity to educate about traditions, cultivate patriotism, and foster national pride among officials, Party members, and all strata of the people, especially the younger generation. Through its diverse activities, the festival contributes to promoting the potential and strengths of tourism; building the image of Ha Tien as a safe, civilized, and culturally rich destination. “To elevate the Tao Dan Chieu Anh Cac festival into a typical cultural event of the province, Ha Tien focuses on preserving core heritage values, combined with expanding the scale, improving the quality of the visitor experience, and promoting it to attract a large number of people to participate,” Mr. Truong Quoc Hien stated.
