Starting work at A Luoi District Youth Union since 2017, Ms. Le Thi Le Thuy, Deputy Secretary of the District Youth Union, will start her new job at A Luoi 2 commune (merged from A Luoi town, Hong Bac, Quang Nham and A Ngo communes) from July 1 as Secretary of the Commune Youth Union. New position, new environment, but Ms. Thuy believes that with her extensive experience in youth union work, she will be able to promote her strengths at the grassroots level.

“Building a two-level local government is a great revolution of the political system. Not only myself but also the union members and youth in A Luoi are very supportive. Being able to continue to wear the youth uniform is an honor and pride; at the same time, it is a responsibility for me. Hopefully, with the experience I have, the companionship of union officials and union members, the A Luoi 2 commune union will have many activities worthy of the expectations of the government and the people,” Ms. Le Thi Le Thuy shared.

Phu Xuan District Youth Union Deputy Secretary Le Vu Dam has been involved in the youth union and youth movement for 11 years. Now he continues to contribute when taking on the position of Secretary of the Kim Long Ward Youth Union (merged from Long Ho, Huong Long and Kim Long wards). "No matter what position I hold, I always try my best to devote myself to my work. With the support and favorable conditions from the Kim Long Ward Party Committee, I aim to continue promoting the local youth union movement, aiming to replicate good and effective models and practices to attract a large number of union members and young people to participate."

According to information from the Hue City Youth Union, in addition to a number of district-level Youth Union officials who have matured and been assigned to work in other positions, there are still 7 officials assigned to take on the position of Youth Union Secretary of communes and wards after the reorganization of commune-level administrative units. This will be the core force, with the capacity and experience to continue promoting the Youth Union movement in localities. With 40 commune-level administrative units of Hue City established since July 1, the position of Youth Union Secretary will be filled by localities from the source of old commune-level Youth Union officials.

Ensuring smooth operations

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoai, Secretary of the City Youth Union - Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of Hue City said: I have also visited and encouraged the Youth Union officials currently working in 9 districts, towns and cities to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the Youth Union officials in the context of reorganizing the administrative apparatus, implementing the merger policy under the direction of the Central and the city.

Through meetings and discussions, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoai has recorded many sincere shares from grassroots Youth Union officials about the advantages and difficulties in work; expectations when there are changes in organization and working positions. In particular, questions related to staffing, job arrangement after the merger, support policies for non-professional Youth Union officials; wishing to soon have specific instructions on how the Youth Union organization operates after the merger; training and coaching for grassroots Youth Union officials in staff work, organizing and implementing tasks in the new situation; supporting the connection of resources to organize activities...

The Secretary of the Hue City Youth Union acknowledged the efforts and proactive adaptation of the Youth Union staff during the transition period. At the same time, he requested that grassroots Youth Union organizations continue to promote a sense of responsibility in performing their tasks; complete the handover of records and archiving work; ensure the progress of summer activities transfer and receive members temporarily transferring to local Youth Union activities; maintain the effectiveness of the activities of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, Green Sunday, etc.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoai, this is an opportunity to grasp the actual situation at the grassroots level, demonstrating the concern and support of the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union for the team of Youth Union cadres throughout the city - the "pieces" that contribute to completing the "picture" of Youth Union work and the youth movement. "Youth Union cadres are the vanguard force, the more challenging the situation, the more they need courage, responsibility and aspiration to contribute. Each individual needs to continue to promote the vanguard role, maintain the flame of enthusiasm, and accompany the Youth Union organization in the process of innovation and development", Secretary of the City Youth Union Nguyen Thanh Hoai shared.
