In recent times, the "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life" movement in Vinh Long has been widely implemented with many effective and creative approaches. Among these, mass cultural and artistic activities have been identified by the cultural sector as an important task and are carried out regularly. Cultural and artistic activities have become increasingly vibrant from the provincial level to the grassroots, becoming a beneficial "spiritual nourishment" that enhances the spiritual life of the people, thereby building and developing culture and people in the new era.

From the small stage to shared joy
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, performing arts and propaganda activities are constantly innovating in content and form. In addition to on-site activities, the unit always prioritizes organizing mobile activities, especially in remote areas, ethnic minority regions, residential areas, industrial zones, schools, educational institutions, and detention centers. Online activities are increasingly improving in quality, attracting a large audience and contributing to diversifying propaganda methods to suit audience tastes. Competitions and festivals of mass arts are invested in and innovated in form. Performance programs are seriously and creatively invested in, using new songs and skits, many of which are composed and staged by the staff themselves, creating a new and unique character for each program, thereby attracting a large number of participants and viewers.
Last year, the units organized over 60 cultural and artistic programs, performing at 151 events, attracting approximately 90,900 viewers. They also held 50 mobile film screenings, organized 12 competitions and amateur arts festivals with the participation of about 1,280 amateur performers, and attracted approximately 33,000 viewers. In addition, they produced 224 products promoting the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State, political events, holidays, and anniversaries; and introduced and promoted cultural and artistic activities on the unit's fanpage and YouTube channel, reaching approximately 850,000 views, interactions, and shares. Clubs and groups continued to operate effectively, organizing 8 performances and exchanges between clubs and groups, attracting approximately 4,600 viewers…
The cultural sector focuses on bringing culture to the grassroots level by providing equipment and resources from the national target program. The movement "All people unite to build a cultured life" is being further promoted, linked to new rural areas and civilized urban areas. Exhibitions, visitor services, and the creation of scientific dossiers for ranking historical sites are always given priority. Programs promoting reading culture have received active participation from the community and have been highly appreciated by leaders at all levels.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tham (Trung Hiep commune) said: “The local authorities always pay attention to improving the spiritual life of the people. From the monthly activities of the traditional music club to the cultural programs performed in Trung Thanh commune square and at the Vo Van Kiet Memorial Area… Through the activities of the performing arts groups and clubs, practical playgrounds have been created, the community awareness of the people has been raised, and the spirit of solidarity has been strengthened.”
Nurturing the seeds of youth.
In the joyful atmosphere of the early days of the new year, the 3rd Provincial Music, Dance, and Performing Arts Group Festival attracted 31 art groups with the participation of more than 445 actors, singers, dancers, and musicians from all localities and units in the province. 82 meticulously prepared performances, ranging from traditional melodies to modern styles, were presented.

Mr. Lam Huu Phuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long, shared that art is the language of the soul, and youth is the most beautiful time for that language to speak. This festival is an opportunity for young people to step into the spotlight and affirm their own unique identities. Whether a rocker giving their all on the guitar strings, a dancer with unconventional moves, or a graceful performer in contemporary folk dances – all of you are the most radiant flowers in the artistic garden of our province.
Nguyen Tan Tai, a veterinary student at Tra Vinh University, said that participating in the Arts and Culture Club is a beneficial platform that helps students develop their talents, nurture their souls, and strengthen their bonds within the group. Through exploring, learning, and researching the culture of the Mekong Delta and the art of the Khmer people, the performances also strongly promote and educate about revolutionary traditions, cultivate morality, foster team spirit, and preserve national cultural identity.
Young people are showing great creativity and innovation by combining tradition and modernity to suit and appeal to young audiences. Huynh Huong, a student in class 11A2 at Huu Thanh High School (Vinh Xuan commune), and her friends formed the Sunny dance group with 9 members. Huong shared: “Besides contemporary song and dance performances, students are also encouraged to participate in activities recreating Southern Vietnamese folk songs. The group created a modern dance performance with the song "Style Rock Rice Grain," and the dance 'Strong Feet, Soft Stones'… I am very happy that I can both introduce the unique culture of the South such as folk songs and traditional melodies… and attract and be well-received by many young people.”
Mr. Lam Huu Phuc emphasized the importance of organizing cultural activities in a practical and flexible manner, focusing on the grassroots level and the people. In the coming period, it is necessary to review and evaluate cultural institutions at the grassroots level such as cultural centers, hamlet/neighborhood cultural houses, community centers, etc., to ensure appropriate investment from the budget and social mobilization from the people and businesses. Focus should be placed on community-based, folk-style cultural, artistic, and sports activities suitable for each region and locality to preserve and protect cultural traditions. Regularly organize competitions, performances, and sports events to create opportunities for individuals and clubs to participate, interact, and gain experience, thereby replicating effective models of activities at the grassroots level and creating healthy and practical playgrounds for the people.
