Documents for Party branch meetings

Newspapers from An Giang and Nhan Dan are neatly arranged on a small table in the middle of the Party cell headquarters in Ward 1 - Phao Dai. Every Monday, before the weekly meeting, many Party members take the opportunity to open the newspapers to read current events, follow articles about Party building, socio-economic development, and successful models at the grassroots level. This scene has become familiar at the Party cell for many years now.

The Party cell of Ward I - Phao Dai currently has 34 members, mostly retired officials and ward officials. For these Party members, reading the Party newspaper is not only a way to update official information but also an integral part of their political life at the grassroots level. Holding a copy of the An Giang newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung attentively reads the article "Young people preserve the soul of Khmer culture." Mr. Hung said: "Every morning, after drinking tea, I spend time reading the newspaper. It helps me understand more about the new policies and guidelines of the Party and the State, and the development situation of the province. Many articles in the An Giang newspaper are very close to daily life, so after reading them, I have more information to disseminate and mobilize the people," Mr. Hung shared.

Many Party members not only read to gather information, but also consider the Party newspaper as a resource for their branch meetings. Before each meeting, the branch committee selects outstanding articles for discussion and to relate to local realities. As a result, the meeting content becomes more lively, and Party members gain a broader perspective from the province's practical experiences. Mr. Vo Thanh Ngo, Secretary of the Party Branch of Ward I - Phao Dai, said that in implementing the Party Committee's directive to increase the purchase and reading of Party newspapers and magazines, the branch consistently maintains the practice of reading the Party newspaper during regular meetings. "We recognize the Party newspaper as a very important official information channel. Many articles in the An Giang newspaper accurately reflect the realities of grassroots life, helping Party members stay updated on new policies, successful models, and effective methods to disseminate among the people," Mr. Ngo said.

At the My Lo neighborhood Party branch – a border area of Ha Tien ward – reading the Party newspaper is a regular practice. During monthly Party branch meetings, articles related to border sovereignty protection, cultural development, and economic development in border regions always receive attention from Party members. Mr. Danh Cheo shared: “In border areas, official information is very important. Reading the Party newspaper helps us understand the situation correctly and raise our vigilance against misleading information on social media. Many articles about good people, good deeds, or effective models at the grassroots level also create motivation for the locality to learn from and follow.”

Disseminating official information to the people.

In implementation of Document No. 70-CV/TU dated July 28, 2025, from the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on strengthening the purchase and reading of Party newspapers and magazines, and to further promote the role of Party newspapers and magazines in the new situation, the Party Committee of Ha Tien Ward issued Document No. 275-CV/DU dated October 9, 2025, requesting all subordinate Party branches, Party committees, Party and government agencies, the Fatherland Front, mass organizations, and armed forces... to purchase and read at least one copy of An Giang Newspaper, one copy of Nhan Dan Newspaper, one copy of Communist Magazine, and other Party-building publications each issue. At the same time, the Standing Committee of the Ward Party Committee launched a campaign to read Party newspapers on the first Monday of each month; and encouraged the establishment of reading rooms, bookshelves, and newspaper racks in agencies and units.

To date, reading newspapers has spread not only within the Party branch but also to the local people. Mr. Nguyen Van Be, residing in Ward 1 - Phao Dai, said: “Previously, I paid little attention to newspapers, but recently I have regularly come to the ward office to read An Giang newspaper with officials and Party members. Reading newspapers helps me learn more about the State's policies, the development situation in the province, and effective business models. Many articles are relatable and easy to understand, so people really enjoy reading them.”

The newspapers passed around and read during each Party branch meeting today are not simply a channel for current events; they also serve as a bridge to bring the Party's policies closer to the grassroots, contributing to maintaining the ideological foundation, improving the quality of Party branch activities, and spreading positive values in social life. Ms. Le Da Huong, Deputy Head of the Party Building Committee of Ha Tien Ward Party Committee, said that in recent times, Party branches and Party committees under the Ward Party Committee have maintained the practice of reading Party newspapers. Through these articles, they contribute to improving the quality of political and ideological education among cadres and Party members. “In the current context of multi-faceted information, Party newspapers continue to play a role in guiding public opinion and spreading positive information at the grassroots level. Through reading newspapers, cadres and Party members firmly grasp the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations, thereby disseminating them more effectively to the people,” Ms. Le Da Huong said.
