Reviewing the curriculum for 12th-grade students is identified as one of the key professional tasks at Quang Xuong 1 High School (Luu Ve commune), receiving special attention and being implemented early on. The school's management board has directed subject departments to effectively conduct regular lessons as a basis for students to review and improve their knowledge.

Deputy Principal Do Thi My stated: “In addition to selecting dedicated, responsible, and highly qualified teachers to teach 12th grade, the school also assigns subject departments to closely monitor the curriculum, exam structure, and exam regulations to promptly disseminate information and provide guidance to students. The school also regularly organizes surveys for students according to the plan of the Department of Education and Training and the school's plan to serve as a basis for developing review plans for each stage and differentiating students based on their abilities. This allows for appropriate teaching methods, ensuring optimal learning effectiveness for each student.”

Thanks to the close attention and guidance from the school, 12th-grade students have confidently chosen a path that suits them. Bui Phuc An, a student in class 12T6, shared: “From the lessons at school, the career counseling and guidance sessions from the teachers helped me realize my strengths and weaknesses and decide to apply for the Primary Education major at Hong Duc University. I have also developed a specific study plan to get closer to my dream.”

At Dong Bac Ga Primary, Secondary, and High School (Hac Thanh Ward), 12th-grade students and their parents were invited to the school to receive career guidance for their children's future.

Principal Le Thi Bich stated that, through organizing review sessions, assessment tests, and grouping students according to their abilities, the school will meticulously review each student's work, regularly checking and comparing their results with previous tests to guide them towards the appropriate exam subjects based on their abilities and strengths.

“We focus on helping students systematize key knowledge, master basic and advanced problem types, and practice problem-solving skills. In addition, teachers regularly provide support, encouragement, and guidance to students, helping them consolidate basic knowledge while honing their problem-solving skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for the exam,” added Ms. Le Thi Bich.

Besides the proactive efforts of the schools, the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training also closely collaborates with schools in coordinating with other units and schools to organize mock exams, career counseling programs for students. At the same time, it directs core teachers to build a question bank to provide students with more effective exam preparation materials.

Bui Doan Minh Tri, a 12th-grade student, said he feels more confident in his choice to pursue Nuclear Engineering at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. “After receiving advice and guidance from my teachers, especially after direct consultation and in-depth discussions with lecturers from Hanoi University of Science and Technology at the 2026 Career Guidance and Admissions Fair organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper in collaboration with the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union, and various universities at Hong Duc University, I am even more determined to make my choice and will strive to study hard to conquer my chosen field,” Tri shared.

Having traveled over 70km to arrive early for the 2026 University Admissions and Career Guidance Fair, Hoang My Van, a 12th-grade student from Ngoc Lac High School, shared: “My classmates and I formed a group and, with our families' support, traveled to Hong Duc University early this morning to participate in the career guidance and counseling activities. We also had the opportunity to meet directly with lecturers from universities we are interested in, participate in one-on-one counseling sessions, learn about majors, admission methods, training models, job opportunities, and have our concerns and questions answered. The specific advice at the program and from the lecturers has helped us feel more confident in choosing the right major and university.”

2026 will be the second year that high school students take the high school graduation exam under the 2018 General Education Program. The 2026 university entrance exam will see changes in the admission methods of universities, as well as the skill requirements for each profession. Therefore, the close attention paid by schools to exam preparation and career guidance has helped 12th-grade students comprehensively prepare in terms of knowledge, skills, and psychology. This is a crucial foundation for them to confidently "reach the finish line."
