Combine multiple products

At the BT Group Production and Trading Company Limited warehouse (Ban Thach ward), goods are arranged on separate shelves. On one side are Ngoc Linh ginseng tea and cordyceps, below are ginger candy from QNA Farm Cooperative (Lanh Ngoc commune), and next to them are brown rice sprout cakes from Bh.nong Food Company (Hiep Duc commune).

Another section features agarwood products from the Quang Nam OCOP Center, mung bean cakes from the Xuan Co household (Ban Thach ward), Bao Linh baked coconut cakes, and Tan Thanh dried seaweed. Each gift basket is assembled in various shapes, with prices ranging from 700,000 VND to 5 million VND depending on the level of luxury.

According to BT Group Director Nguyen Thi Bich Thao, this year customers are particularly interested in the origin of the products, from the ginseng growing region and the ginger jam making process to the seaweed drying stage. Therefore, the company works directly with each OCOP (One Commune One Product) recipient instead of buying through intermediaries, helping to control quality and build trust with customers, which are businesses and agencies ordering large quantities of gifts.

In Tam Xuan commune, Phu Binh Cooperative is entering the Tet season with two new products: pheasant sausage and H'Mong chicken sausage. Preparations began in mid-2025, with the cooperative collaborating with the Hien Truong business household (Tam My commune) to experiment with various recipes, adjusting the meat texture, spice ratios, steaming time, and preservation methods to meet the requirements for long-distance transportation.

From the beginning of January 2026, the production facility has been operating continuously to fulfill orders from many provinces and cities. The cooperative sells a combo pack consisting of two packages of sausage and a jar of Dulius chili sauce (from Dai Loc commune) for 535,000 VND. This packaging method offers convenience to consumers with accompanying condiments and also differentiates the product from traditional sausage products on the market.

Preserving the authentic flavor of Phu The cake from Kinh Bac region.Phu The cake, also known as Xu Xe cake, has long been a distinctive cultural symbol of the Kinh Bac region. Not only does it appear in wedding ceremonies as a wish for fidelity, but every spring, it is also present on the Tet (Lunar New Year) feast table, conveying the hope for family reunion and fulfillment.

In Tra My commune, Thanh Binh business is accelerating the production of dried chicken, tea bags, dried pho noodles, dried jackfruit, and dried mango. This year, the establishment is also combining ginger tea and green banana powder from QNA Farm Cooperative (Lanh Ngoc), along with cereals and nut-filled sandwiches from Me Mit Hoi An Company to create assorted gift sets.

At many other OCOP product sales points, this year's Tet gift baskets are more diverse, featuring ginseng and cinnamon from mountainous regions; dried seaweed specialties from the sea; sausages, dried chicken and processed foods; along with herbal drinks and traditional pastries. Each gift basket is rich in characteristic products of each locality.

Expectations of a vibrant market.

According to BT Group Director Nguyen Thi Bich Thao, the application of tax declaration and invoice issuance by business households helps to create more transparent links with partners. The company can trace the origin of each product and issue complete output invoices to businesses and agencies ordering gifts, thereby increasing transparency in transactions.

BT Group has currently received orders for nearly 5,000 gift baskets, equivalent to more than 20,000 products of various types. Although demand is still increasing, the company is proactively limiting orders at this level to ensure the best quality.

According to Vo Hong Long, Director of Phu Binh Cooperative, this year's market has seen a major change as consumers tend to choose brands with clear origins, transparent production processes, and the ability to directly contact the producers.

"Phu Binh Cooperative focuses on direct sales channels, participating in fairs and OCOP (One Commune One Product) sales points, and maintaining a network of regular customers, instead of relying entirely on e-commerce. Trust comes from buyers being able to try the products, hear the story behind them, and meet the producers directly," Mr. Long said.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam encourages US businesses to expand investment, especially in high-tech, innovation, and semiconductor industries.

Meanwhile, Ms. Vu Thi Cam Van, owner of Thanh Binh business, is facing the challenge of rising raw material prices, from chicken meat to packaging materials. Despite this, the business is maintaining the same price for gift baskets as last year to avoid putting pressure on local customers.

By mid-December, Thanh Binh's orders hadn't been as high as expected, but Ms. Van believes the market usually becomes more active closer to Tet (Lunar New Year) as families, businesses, and organizations begin ordering year-end gifts.

"When opening each product in the gift basket, recipients not only experience the flavors of Tet but also see an entire production chain growing from the less developed areas of the city. The connections between stakeholders are creating a new image for Tet gifts - familiar, transparent in origin, and closely linked to the local economy," Ms. Van said.
