After the results of the 10th grade entrance exam are announced, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will hold a meeting to approve the cut-off scores for admission to 10th grade in each public school.

From July 6th to July 9th, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will announce the cutoff scores for admission to 10th grade at various schools.
From July 10th to 12th, successful candidates confirm their enrollment. From July 17th, schools that have not yet filled their quotas will conduct supplementary enrollment. From July 19th to 22nd, candidates confirm supplementary enrollment; on July 28th, candidates receive their appeal results at the Department of Education.
According to the regulations of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the method for calculating entrance exam scores for 10th grade in non-specialized public high schools is as follows:
Admission score = (Mathematics exam score + Literature exam score) x 2 + Foreign language exam score + Priority points (if any). Exam scores for each subject are calculated on a 10-point scale.
Regarding the admission principles, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training clearly stipulates: Admission will be based on the number of applicants who have registered their nguyện vọng (preferences) for the school, selecting candidates in order of admission scores from highest to lowest until all quotas are filled. Candidates admitted to their first choice will not be considered for subsequent choices. The admission scores for the second and third choices must be 1 and 2 points higher, respectively, than the first choice.
The Department only considers applicants who have completed all required exams, have not violated exam regulations to the extent that their exam results are invalidated, and do not have any exam with a score of 0.
