Localities in Ha Tinh province have harvested 43,712 out of 44,568 hectares of summer-autumn rice, reaching 98.1% of the total area. According to experts, the yield for this crop is estimated at 50.28 quintals/hectare and the total production is estimated at 224,093 tons.
In the 2023 summer-autumn crop season, the entire province cultivated 44,568/44,891 hectares of rice, achieving 99.3% of the plan. Regarding the variety structure, localities mainly planted varieties with a growth period of less than 110 days. Specifically: the group of widely adaptable and stable varieties accounted for 35,378 hectares, representing 79.4% of the total area, including 15 varieties such as Huong Thom 1, Thien Uu 8, Xuan Mai, Nep 98...; the group of promising varieties accounted for 4,873 hectares, representing 10.9% of the area, including 20 varieties such as Ha Phat 3, Nep Huong, Huong Thanh 8, Huong Binh...; and varieties outside the planned structure accounted for 1,035 hectares, representing 2.3% of the area.

To ensure a successful summer-autumn crop, local authorities have instructed farmers to take full advantage of favorable weather conditions to quickly harvest areas before rain is forecast.
As of the morning of September 17th, the entire province had harvested over 43,712 out of 44,568 hectares, reaching over 98.1%. According to the review, some localities have completed harvesting, including: Cam Xuyen (9,082 ha), Can Loc (8,999 ha), Duc Tho (3,976 ha), Huong Khe (2,118 ha), and Vu Quang (365 ha).
This year's summer-autumn rice crop is bountiful, and prices are high, so farmers are delighted.
According to Mr. Phan Van Huan, Head of the Crop Production Department of the Ha Tinh Provincial Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, thanks to adhering to the planting schedule and crop varieties; proactively preventing and controlling pests and diseases; and taking advantage of favorable weather conditions to speed up the harvesting process, this year's summer-autumn crop has been basically a success.
In the coming period, the Sub-Department will continue to coordinate with localities to urge farmers to finish harvesting the remaining summer-autumn rice crop. In addition, in the event of rain, localities need to review and contact drying facilities in their areas to ensure they are ready to dry rice for farmers, thereby minimizing post-harvest losses; and proactively connect with organizations and individuals to consume rice and other agricultural products for farmers...
