On October 23rd and 24th, the Hai Phong City Association for the Support of Disabled People and Orphans, in coordination with various organizations and benefactors, organized the distribution of gifts to support people affected by storms and floods in Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang provinces.
In Cao Bang province, Venerable Thich Truong Xuan, abbot of Chua Do Pagoda ( Hai Phong city), along with other monks, Buddhist followers of the pagoda, and representatives of the Huong Tu Tam Club, distributed 406 gift packages, including 6 packages worth 20 million VND each and a warm blanket, to 6 families whose houses were severely damaged; and 400 gift packages worth 2 million VND each to 400 families affected by storms and floods in Hoa An commune.
In Thai Nguyen province, the delegation presented 100 gift packages, each worth 1 million VND, to 100 households severely affected by storms and floods in Gia Sang ward; and donated 130 million VND to Gia Sang Kindergarten, Gia Sang Primary School and Gia Sang 915 Secondary School. The total value of the donations was 1.15 billion VND.
These meaningful gifts demonstrate the spirit of "mutual support and compassion" of the people of Hai Phong towards those facing difficulties in the flood-affected areas.
