(NLĐO) - Thousands of tourists flocked to Chu Dang Ya volcano to admire the vibrant yellow fields of wild sunflowers and watch unique artistic performances.

On November 8th, at the foot of Chu Dang Ya volcano (Ia Gri village, Chu Dang Ya commune, Chu Pah district, Gia Lai province), the 2024 Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Ya Volcano officially opened.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, said that Chu Dang Ya is a volcano crater that has been inactive for millions of years, leaving behind a magnificent landscape. Chu Dang Ya volcano is beautiful all year round, most spectacular in early winter, when the mountain is covered in the vibrant yellow of wild sunflowers.

The 2024 Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Ya Volcano has just opened.

The Chu Dang Ya volcano has also been selected by the Vietnam Record Organization Vietking as the most attractive destination among the top 10 destinations in Gia Lai province.

Taking advantage of this, over the years, the Gia Lai provincial government has organized many unique activities associated with the Chu Dang Ya volcano and the image of wild sunflowers.

Through the 2024 Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Ya Volcano, Gia Lai province hopes that visitors will experience the sincere, warm, and hospitable nature of the people of Gia Lai. The province hopes that everyone will join hands to preserve and protect the natural landscape and environment; together conserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups; and seek more opportunities for cooperation and attract more investment to develop a prosperous Gia Lai province, building a green plateau for health.

Visiting Chu Dang Ya volcano at this time of year, tourists can witness artisans demonstrating traditional carving and brocade weaving.

Besides the wild sunflowers, many other vibrant flower gardens are attractive destinations for tourists.

Following the opening ceremony, during the three key days (from November 8th to 10th), the 2024 Wild Sunflower and Chu Dang Ya Volcano Week will feature many attractive events, such as: the awarding of a Vietnamese record for "The largest number of participating artisans and student performers in the Central Highlands Gong performance program in Vietnam"; the marathon "Awakening the Chu Pah countryside - A journey connecting mountains and flowers"; and a competition to conquer the summit of Chu Dang Ya mountain...

On November 8th, thousands of tourists from all over flocked to the foot of the Chu Dang Ya volcano to admire the vibrant fields of wild sunflowers. Visitors also enjoyed unique art and cultural performances by the people of Gia Lai province and shopped for local specialties.
