At the end of November 2025, the City Labor Federation organized a handover of "Union Shelters" to union members with housing difficulties.
Working at Hung Vuong Primary School, librarian Trinh Thi Dieu Thuan (born 1990, Son Tra ward) has difficult circumstances, her old house has been badly degraded for a long time.
In mid-2025, Ms. Thuan and her husband intended to build a new house, just when the City Labor Federation had a review period for support for "Union Shelter". With the encouragement of the grassroots union, Ms. Thuan made a profile and was approved.
With the support of 50 million VND from the City Labor Federation and the support of siblings and families on both sides, Ms. Thuan and her husband built a new, spacious and solid house.
“My family is very happy and grateful to the City Labor Federation for the meaningful “Union Shelter” program. Thanks to the support of the City Labor Union, my husband and I have more motivation to build a new house and stabilize our lives,” Ms. Thuan shared.

The case of Ms. Ha Thi Thu Loc (born 1968, Lien Chieu Ward) - a member of the Hoa Lien Kindergarten Union is somewhat more special. Ms. Loc and her husband divorced more than 10 years ago, and she alone raised two children to study.
The old house was dilapidated, located in a low-lying area, often flooded during the rainy season. But with a meager salary as a kindergarten teacher, barely enough to take care of her two children, Ms. Loc never dared to dream of one day building a new house.
In March 2025, hearing that the superior Union was implementing the "Union Shelter" support program, Ms. Loc applied for support.
From the support of 50 million VND, Ms. Loc received a piece of land from her mother, and her siblings contributed money and labor for construction. After more than three months of construction, the 100m2 house was completed, ensuring a place to live for Ms. Loc and her three children.
“There is nothing happier than now that my children and I will no longer have to clean up and run away from floods every rainy season. Thank you to the Union at higher levels for caring and creating favorable conditions to support my family to have this warm home. This is a great encouragement, helping me to feel secure in my work and strive for success,” Ms. Loc confided.
The joy of settling down also smiled on the couple Dang Thi Van Anh (teacher at Le Anh Xuan Secondary School, Hai Van Ward) because after decades of renting a house, they can now live peacefully in the "Union Shelter". Thanks to 50 million VND from the "Union Shelter" program, along with the family's savings, Ms. Van Anh was able to build a new, spacious house.
The City Labor Federation said that since the beginning of the year, it has organized 3 rounds of financial support to repair 45 houses and build 40 new houses, with a total amount of 2.9 billion VND. Dozens of houses have been completed and handed over to union members and workers to use and stabilize their lives, thereby joining hands with the city government to effectively implement the "Have a house" program, contributing to improving social security in the area.
