Teams compete over two rounds, with 12 men's matches and 6 women's matches. All matches are arranged by random draw. Each win counts as 1 point, a draw as 0.5 points, and a loss as 0 points. The team with the most points wins. If two or more teams have the same number of points, each team will select its best player to compete in a stroke play-off. If the tie persists, the organizers will draw lots to determine the winner.
The Hai Phong golf team is ready to conquer the 2023 Northern Golf Tournament.
Mr. Vu Nguyen, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Golf Association, shared: "Following the success of the Central and Central Highlands Golf Association Championships, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Golf Association continues to organize the Northern Golf Association Championships, followed by the Southern Golf Association Championships, and finally the National Golf Association Championship Finals with 12 outstanding men's teams and 6 outstanding women's teams from the three regions. This is a new tournament system sponsored and organized by the Vietnam Golf Association. We hope this will be a breath of fresh air, a new playground for local golf associations to interact and connect more closely in the future."
Mr. Trinh Thanh, the tournament's executive director, stated: "Drawing on our experience in managing major tournaments over the past nearly 15 years, we expect to breathe new life into the golf movement in Northern Vietnam through a model of competition between provincial teams via local golf associations, where players will compete wholeheartedly for the honor of their respective localities."
