Mr. Nguyen Van Nghi, the investor of the Con En eco-tourism project, said: “The Con En eco-tourism project has a total investment of over 32 billion VND. It also integrates restaurants and souvenir shops. A unique feature here is the well-invested golden sand dune beach complex along the Tien River, offering a peaceful atmosphere. Next to that is an entertainment area with many fun activities for visitors to experience, such as kayaking, fishing, and participating in traditional games (rope swinging, balancing on a bridge).”
Swimming in the river and on sand dunes is a rare pleasure found nowhere else but in the Mekong Delta. Recognizing this demand, the owner of this tourist destination has nurtured and realized the dream of river swimming for tourists by creating a golden sand dune beach next to the Tien River. Here, visitors can feel the cool, refreshing water and experience new and exciting things. Above the beach are rows of green coconut trees, creating a rustic and peaceful atmosphere beside the gentle Tien River. “I was quite surprised by the very Western-style scenery here. The overall view of the tourist destination is very impressive, and I will return with my friends to experience the services during the Lunar New Year holiday in 2026,” shared Mr. Tran Tuan Phong, a resident of Can Tho City.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, a Vietnamese expatriate from Canada, originally from O Mon ward, Can Tho city, expressed her surprise: “I’ve traveled to many places, from Can Tho to Hanoi . Coming here, I’m amazed by this large, spacious tourist destination with many beautiful sights and delicious food. Walking under the shade of coconut trees along the river feels so close to nature.”
Upon arriving at Con En eco-tourism site, visitors are quite surprised, feeling as if they have entered a world of driftwood and agarwood, with hundreds of intricately crafted works of art made from these centuries-old logs. These masterpieces are created by skilled artisans from Hue. The most outstanding is a 24.5-meter-long monolithic wood sculpture depicting scenes of traditional Vietnamese villages. “Inside the driftwood-themed resort apartments, the unique interior design, crafted from agarwood, offers visitors a novel experience. We want Con En to be not only a destination for domestic tourists but also to attract international visitors,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Yen, Director of the Con En eco-tourism site.
During holidays and festivals, Con En eco-tourism site hosts many cultural, artistic, recreational, and team-building activities, making it an ideal destination for tourists. Visitors to Con En are also surprised by a collection of over 500 motorbikes with attractive license plates, including classic bikes with four-digit, five-digit, or matching numbers.
According to Vo Minh Nang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Cu Lao Gieng commune, tourism development has always been a priority for the locality. The commune has implemented policies to support, attract investment, and encourage tourism development. Infrastructure investment, along with the new rural development program, has yielded many results, ensuring connectivity between waterway and road routes. The commune has developed spiritual tourism destinations, garden tours, traditional craft villages, and the nearly 7-hectare Con En ecological tourism site… “Cu Lao Gieng is considered an attractive and convenient location in the province for international cruise lines to stop and bring tourists on their journey to explore the Mekong River from Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh (Kingdom of Cambodia),” Mr. Vo Minh Nang affirmed.
| Operating since 2023, Con En ecotourism site has quickly become an attractive destination for domestic and international tourists, and has been voted a typical tourist destination in the Mekong Delta. |
