Ahead of the V-League 2023-2024 Round 4 match on the afternoon of December 3rd at Pleiku Stadium, Binh Duong FC was considered the stronger team in every aspect and held a high probability of winning against HAGL. Coach Le Huynh Duc's team was in good spirits after a relatively smooth start to the season. Meanwhile, Coach Kiatisak's team was yet to taste victory after their first four matches in all competitions (1 draw, 3 losses).

However, HAGL capitalized on their home advantage and started the match with great enthusiasm. Before the spectators at Pleiku Stadium had even settled into their seats, the home team unexpectedly took the lead. Following Minh Vương's cross from a corner kick, Lê Văn Sơn positioned himself perfectly to easily finish, opening the scoring for the team from the mountain town in the 2nd minute.

Le Van Son scored the opening goal for HAGL very early in the match.

After conceding an early goal, Binh Duong FC pushed forward to try and equalize. Inevitably, their attacks on the Binh Duong goal finally paid off. Again, from a corner kick, Janclesio seized the opportunity to unleash a powerful shot from inside the penalty area, bringing the game back to a tie in the 27th minute.

After the halftime break, Binh Duong FC continued to dominate on the Pleiku pitch. Despite being the underdog, HAGL still created some notable counter-attacks. The two most dangerous chances created in the second half were evenly distributed between the two teams.

Minh Vuong (10) and his teammates at HAGL have not tasted victory since the beginning of the season.

In that match, striker Nguyen Tien Linh had a very favorable opportunity to increase the score for Binh Duong FC. However, in a one-on-one situation with the HAGL goalkeeper, the Vietnamese national team striker's shot was too weak. Afterward, the home team HAGL responded with a skillful move from their foreign player Jhon Cley. The Brazilian striker dribbled the ball and unleashed a surprise long-range shot, but the Binh Duong goalkeeper was focused and made a diving save.

In round 5, HAGL will face Viettel FC, while Binh Duong FC will play against Khanh Hoa FC.
