On April 17th, in Can Tho City, the Vietnam Lawyers Association, in coordination with the People's Committee of Can Tho City, organized the fourth annual photo exhibition week "Vietnamese Lawyers and the Homeland's Seas and Islands" in 2023.

Event - Photo Exhibition 'Vietnamese Lawyers and the Homeland's Seas and Islands': A Meaningful Activity — The delegates performed the flag-raising ceremony.

Present at the Photo Exhibition Week, Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, shared that in the atmosphere of the historic April days, the whole country joyfully celebrates the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, as well as other important national holidays and anniversaries. In the heart of the peaceful and vibrant Tay Do (Can Tho City), the Vietnam Lawyers Association, in coordination with the People's Committee of Can Tho City, solemnly organized the opening of the Photo Exhibition Week "Vietnamese Lawyers with the Sea and Islands of the Homeland".

Event - Photo exhibition 'Vietnamese Lawyers and the Homeland's Seas and Islands': A meaningful activity (Figure 2). — Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, delivered a speech at the photo exhibition week "Vietnamese Lawyers and the Sea and Islands of the Homeland".

This activity is of great practical significance to the people; it contributes to raising awareness among officials, Party members, and all strata of the city's population about the particularly important role and position of Vietnam's seas and islands; it helps to awaken the tradition of patriotism, national pride and self-respect, strengthen revolutionary tradition education , and further enhance the sense of responsibility towards the homeland's seas and islands of every Vietnamese citizen in general and the people of Can Tho City in particular.

“It can be affirmed that, for generations, the sea and islands of our homeland have been an inseparable part of the heart of every Vietnamese person. The sea and islands are priceless gifts bestowed upon us by nature and glorious history. It is the vastness of the ocean, where the markers of sovereignty stand tall as witnesses to a history full of ‘blood and flowers,’ that people still guard our homeland day and night, ensuring its peaceful sleep. It is at the forefront of the waves and winds that the national flag always flies. It is there that the passionate hearts of the youth and of countless generations of Vietnamese people turn towards with the heartfelt devotion of all of us, of Vietnam, with boundless love and gratitude,” affirmed the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City.

According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, President Ho Chi Minh, during his lifetime, instructed: "In the past, we only had night and forests; today, we have day, sky, and sea. Our coastline is long and beautiful; we must know how to preserve it."

His emphatic admonition not only spurred the entire nation to resolutely defeat imperialism and its puppets and liberate the nation, but also placed the responsibility on generations of Vietnamese people to carefully develop the advantages and firmly protect the sacred airspace, seas, and islands of the Fatherland.

Over the years, the Party Committee, government, and people of Can Tho City have gloriously continued the tradition of nation-building and national defense of generations of ancestors, always proud of the golden pages of history with its heroic and tragic past...

Event - Photo exhibition 'Vietnamese Lawyers and the Homeland's Seas and Islands': A meaningful activity (Figure 6). — A large number of students attended the photo exhibition week titled "Vietnamese Lawyers and the Homeland's Seas and Islands".

Many practical and meaningful activities focused on the sea and islands have been launched and widely implemented in remote coastal and island areas; many generations of leaders of this city and representatives of the military, people, and political parties of Can Tho City have directly been present at almost all frontline positions of the Fatherland to promptly visit, encourage, and share the hardships and difficulties with the people and soldiers at the forefront of the waves and winds. This has been very effective in educating about the patriotic tradition and the historical tradition of more than a thousand years of nation-building and national defense of our ancestors; affirming the respect for the heroic and indomitable pages of history that our forefathers have bequeathed to all of us...

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City acknowledged and highly appreciated the exhibition of valuable images and documents on the theme "Vietnamese Lawyers and the Sea and Islands of the Homeland". During this Photo Exhibition Week, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City expressed his hope for continued cooperation between the Vietnam Lawyers Association and Can Tho City in many other activities in the future.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ho Van Ngo, former Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Can Tho City, also shared with Nguoi Dua Tin that this is a very meaningful activity that should be included in extracurricular activities at schools, and that images and documents about Vietnam's seas and islands should be included in libraries, with the Department of Education and Training acting as the coordinating unit. The works are displayed in 7 areas with 7 themes. Specifically, they introduce historical documents and legal basis affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagos; the concern of Party and State leaders for cadres, soldiers, and people on the country's frontline islands; pride in the beauty of Vietnam's islands and seas; the daily life of cadres, soldiers, people, and fishermen on the islands and the DK1 platform; Vietnamese lawyers and their homeland's islands and seas; images of the activities of leaders and officials of Can Tho City visiting the Truong Sa archipelago and the DK1 platform; some exhibits about the islands and seas; and images of youth union members of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group.

The fourth "Vietnamese Lawyers and the Homeland's Seas and Islands" Photo Exhibition Week in 2023 was held at Luu Huu Phuoc Park, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City, from April 17 to April 23.
