According to the 2023 university admission plans recently announced by universities, the projected tuition fees for all schools will increase, following the annual tuition fee increase schedule stipulated in Decree 81.

This year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi ) is recruiting students for 27 majors and training programs, including 135 places in the Journalism major.

The school applies tuition fees for the 2023-2024 academic year ranging from 15 to 35 million VND per year, depending on the major. The university has 18 accredited programs, so the tuition fees are higher than standard programs by 20-35 million VND/year. Specifically, 9 accredited programs have a tuition fee of 20 million VND/year, including: History, Political Science, Archival Studies, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Anthropology, Linguistics, Vietnamese Studies, and Sociology.

The three majors with the highest tuition fees – 35 million VND/year – are Journalism, Hotel Management, and Public Relations.

Last year, the entrance exam scores for Journalism at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities ranged from 25.75 to 29.90 points, depending on the specific subject combination.

The Academy of Journalism and Communication plans to double its tuition fees after two years without adjusting them as required by the government.

The university applies a tuition fee of 506,900 VND/credit for regular programs (print journalism, online journalism, radio journalism, television journalism, multimedia, mass communication, etc.) for the 2023-2024 cohort (an increase of over 224,000 VND/credit compared to the previous year), totaling approximately 18.1 million VND/year.

The tuition for the high-quality program (High-quality Television Journalism, High-quality Online Journalism) has also increased to 1.5 million VND/credit, compared to the previous rate of 771,000 VND/credit, or approximately 52 million VND/academic year.

Tuition fees are waived for courses in Philosophy, Scientific Socialism, Political Economy, History of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and Ho Chi Minh Thought.

This year, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology is recruiting 65 students for the Journalism major, 130 students for the Multimedia Communication major, and is also opening a new major in Communication and Public Relations.

The school sets tuition fees for its regular programs at 24.5 - 27.8 million VND/year, depending on the major. Last year, the school collected tuition fees for 13 training programs ranging from 21.60 - 23.94 million VND, depending on the major. The school also publicly announced a tuition fee increase schedule in accordance with Government Decree 81, not exceeding 15% per year.

Hanoi University of Culture has allocated 75 places for the Journalism major, with an expected tuition fee of 442,000 VND per credit for full-time undergraduate students.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City is recruiting students for 34 majors. Of these, the Journalism major has 160 enrollment slots (60 of which are for the high-quality program), and the Multimedia Communication major has 70 enrollment slots.

The university has announced tuition fees for the upcoming academic year ranging from 13 to 64 million VND per year, depending on the specific major/program. The university applies a tuition fee of 710,000 VND per credit, equivalent to 22,000,000 VND per academic year, for the International Relations, Psychology, Journalism, and Multimedia Communication majors.

This year, the University of Science - Hue University is recruiting 130 students for the Journalism major and 55 for the Digital Communication major. However, the university did not specify the tuition fees, only vaguely stating that the tuition fee is 1.5 times the fee for regular students and will be collected according to Hue University's regulations, with a tuition fee increase schedule as stipulated in Government Decree No. 81.
