According to a field survey conducted by reporters, the condition of Provincial Road 233 in Hoi Hoan commune is relatively serious. Specifically, most of the road surface has subsided, cracked, and has many potholes.
Mr. Hoang Van Lim, from Phai Na village, Hoi Hoan commune, said: "The deteriorated road surface makes travel very difficult, and transporting goods and agricultural products takes much longer than before. Besides, the poor road surface also poses a risk of accidents for road users. Therefore, we hope the road will be upgraded and improved soon for easier travel."
Provincial Road 233 passes through four villages: Ban Cap, Phai Na, Cuong Quyet, and Ban Long in Hoi Hoan commune. According to residents of these villages, the road has been in disrepair for many years, and the situation has worsened in the last three years.
The road starts from Ban Cap village, Hoi Hoan commune, passes through Tan Van and Van Quan communes, and connects to National Highway 1B. A section of the road that is in disrepair is approximately 10km long (from Ban Cap village to the border with Tan Van commune). The road was put into use in 2008 and has been deteriorating due to the relatively high volume of traffic, especially trucks carrying timber and construction materials.
Mr. Dinh Long Xuyen, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoi Hoan commune, said: "Provincial Road 233 is of great importance, contributing to the socio -economic development of the area. The deterioration of the road not only causes difficulties in traffic but also greatly affects connectivity with neighboring areas. Given this situation, at village meetings and voter consultations, people have repeatedly raised concerns. At the same time, the commune government has proactively reported and proposed to relevant departments and agencies to pay attention and allocate funds for the renovation and upgrading of the road."
According to information from the Construction Maintenance Management Board of the Department of Construction, Provincial Road 233 has a total length of 25.5km. During the period 2021-2025, the unit implemented upgrades on approximately 5km of the route within the communes of Tan Van and Van Quan. Currently, the remaining section of the road still lacks funding for repair and renovation.
Mr. Hoang Duc Thuan, Deputy Director of the Construction Maintenance Management Board, said: Provincial Road 233, passing through Hoi Hoan commune, has deteriorated due to many years of use. To help people travel more conveniently, the unit continues to pay attention to regular maintenance work. However, given the current condition of the road, the above plan is only temporary. In the future, the unit will research and advise relevant levels and sectors to develop a plan to add the road to the list of upgrades and repairs funded by the province's public investment.
The deterioration of Provincial Road 233, passing through Hoi Hoan commune, has been causing certain difficulties in the socio-economic development of the commune. Therefore, we earnestly hope that all levels and sectors will pay attention and allocate resources to upgrade and renovate the road as soon as possible.
