Attending the conference from Lang Son province were Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Organizing Committee for the 2025 International Yoga Festival and Indian Cultural Exchange in Lang Son; leaders of several provincial departments and agencies; and representatives of several tourism and tourism service businesses in the province.
On the Indian side were Ms. T. Ajungla Jamir – Deputy Ambassador, Embassy of India in Vietnam; the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (INCHAM); and several Indian businesses.
In his welcoming remarks, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that Lang Son province always attaches importance to promoting the establishment and development of relations with Indian partners in general and the Indian Embassy in Vietnam in particular. Over the years, India has become one of the province's reliable and important partners in many fields, especially in agriculture and education. For example, Lang Son star anise is one of 39 geographical indications of Vietnam recognized and protected by Europe, providing an important legal basis for Lang Son star anise products to reach the world market. Approximately 80% of these products are exported to the Indian market, including diverse products such as star anise essential oil, organic spices, health care products, and cosmetics. In addition, black jelly, a key agricultural product of Lang Son province, is also gradually entering the Indian market.
He expressed hope that in the future, more Indian businesses and investors would come to invest and do business in Lang Son province to jointly exploit and strongly develop the province's potential and advantages. He also hoped that the Indian Embassy and the Indian Business Association in Vietnam would introduce and connect Indian businesses to cooperate in investment and business in the border economic zone and industrial parks and clusters of the province, as well as in potential areas of cooperation such as: information technology, digital transformation, pharmaceuticals, agricultural processing, renewable energy, logistics and tourism development,...
He expressed confidence that the "Meet India 2025" conference in Lang Son will open a new phase of development for friendly cooperation between Lang Son province and localities, agencies, organizations, and businesses in India, contributing to promoting the Vietnam-India cooperation to continue developing more deeply, comprehensively, and effectively.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. T. Ajungla Jamir, Deputy Ambassador of India , expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome extended by the People's Committee of Lang Son province to the delegation from the Indian Embassy. Ms. T. Ajungla Jamir stated that, with its advantageous system of international, national, and sub-border gates, Lang Son has emerged as an important logistics center for many foreign companies, including Indian companies. In the agricultural and food processing sector, Lang Son is renowned for its large-scale anise plantations; meanwhile, India is known as the land of spices and aromatics, and many Indian companies have come to the Lang Son market to develop their businesses. This presents a great opportunity to strengthen cooperation between Lang Son and Indian companies in this field.
The Deputy Ambassador hoped that through the conference, Lang Son and India would find opportunities for cooperation, connect markets, and exchange ideas to promote investment in agriculture, forestry, food, and especially in tourism and border trade.
At the conference, delegates watched video clips introducing the potential, advantages, and investment attraction policies in the investment, trade, and tourism sectors of Lang Son province and the UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark; and a promotional video introducing Indian culture.
Delegates from Lang Son and India also presented and exchanged views on the potential, advantages, and investment attraction policies in the fields of investment, trade, logistics, and tourism; potential for cooperation in agriculture and forestry; food and beverages; and tourism between Lang Son province and India; potential for exporting star anise from Lang Son; and cooperation in transporting import and export goods.
During the program, representatives from the Lang Son Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion and representatives from the Indian Business Association in Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in investment, trade, and tourism development between the two sides in the coming period.
Earlier, the delegates had visited ... The exhibition area displays and introduces tourism information about Lang Son, gift products, souvenirs featuring images of Lang Son tourism , and showcases tea products and OCOP products from Lang Son province; there is also a space displaying products from India such as handicrafts, tea, herbal products, and medicinal herbs.
