A convergence of "green paradise" for tourism.

Amidst the booming development of Vietnam's tourism industry, the newly formed Lam Dong province, created by the merger of the highland provinces of Lam Dong and Dak Nong along with the coastal province of Binh Thuan, is emerging as a promising "tourism paradise." With its majestic natural landscapes, mild climate, and diverse culture, Lam Dong attracts not only domestic but also international tourists.

• GREAT POTENTIAL

According to the Government-approved plan for the reorganization of administrative units at all levels, the newly merged Lam Dong province has a total area of ​​24,233.1 km² and a population of approximately 3,324,400 people, making it the province with the largest natural area and population in the country. The province enjoys a favorable geographical location, bordering Cambodia and many major provinces and cities such as Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Khanh Hoa, and Ho Chi Minh City, along with a 140 km long border and a 192 km long coastline. This not only facilitates economic development but also opens up many opportunities for the tourism industry.

Tourism continues to be a bright spot in the province's socio-economic development; numerous large-scale festivals and events, national-level sports competitions... In particular, the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival was a success, further affirming Da Lat as Vietnam's Flower Festival City, a UNESCO Creative City in the field of music , and one of the top 5 impressive Festival Cities in Asia.

Lien Khuong Airport has been recognized as an international airport; the transportation infrastructure system continues to receive investment, upgrades, and improvements, creating smooth traffic flow; the public transportation system continues to develop, shortening travel time and facilitating visits and vacations for residents and tourists in Lam Dong .

Lam Dong province is not only known for its stunning natural landscapes but also for its diverse climate, creating favorable conditions for tourism development. Dak Nong province is famous for Ta Dung National Park, often referred to as the "Ha Long Bay of the Central Highlands," along with the mysterious Nam Kar volcanic mountain range. Majestic waterfalls like Lieng Nung and Trinh Nu are also must-see destinations, offering visitors wonderful experiences amidst pristine nature.

Meanwhile, Da Lat, known as the "city of a thousand flowers" and "city of love," boasts a mild climate and attracts millions of tourists every year with its famous landmarks such as the Valley of Love, Xuan Huong Lake, Lang Biang Mountain, and many other attractive destinations. In particular, Da Lat is renowned for its distinctive flowers, creating stunning natural landscapes.

In late March 2025, Da Lat was honored to receive two prestigious awards: the Asian Festival Award 2025 and the Asian Peak Award, affirming the city's position in the field of tourism and events. Da Lat was also recognized by UNESCO as a Global Creative City in the field of Music, contributing to enhancing the cultural and tourism value of the province. Cultural events, flower festivals, and art activities regularly held in Da Lat not only attract tourists but also create a rich space for cultural exchange.

In addition, Binh Thuan is also an attractive tourist destination with its blue sea, famous landmarks such as Mui Ne National Tourist Area, Phu Quy Island, and historical and cultural relics such as the Duc Thanh School historical site and Po Sah Inu Tower. The beautiful beaches and water sports activities such as surfing, scuba diving, and fishing attract millions of tourists every year.

• A “GREEN” FUTURE

According to statistics from the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, in 2024, Lam Dong ranked 9th among the top 10 provinces and cities with the highest tourism revenue nationwide. Binh Thuan also recorded strong growth in the number of tourists and tourism revenue thanks to the development, especially the expressway connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the South Central provinces. Dak Nong, while not as developed as Lam Dong and Binh Thuan, also has interesting destinations such as Ta Dung National Park and ecotourism areas, promising to contribute to the province's tourism development after the merger.

According to the plan, by 2030, Lam Dong will become a "Green Paradise" with the attraction of top-class resorts, eco-tourism centers, health care facilities, and sports centers in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Da Lat and its surrounding areas will become high-quality urban centers, developing a modern, world-class night-time economy. In addition, Lam Dong will focus on investing in additional tourism product groups: agriculture and rural areas; spiritual and cultural tourism; urban tourism; and creative tourism. Da Lat and its surrounding areas are planned to become a national and international tourism center. Key tourist areas are being expanded and put into operation, such as: Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area, Dan Kia - Suoi Vang National Tourist Area, Prenn Lake Tourist Area, Sa Pung Mountain Tourist Area... Now, with the convergence of the two newly merged localities, the vision of a "green paradise" for the new Lam Dong province is no longer far-fetched.

With its outstanding potential and advantages, the newly established Lam Dong province is sure to become a "tourism paradise" with its high mountains, vast lakes, blue seas, and beautiful islands. The combination of majestic nature, diverse culture, and rich tourism activities will create wonderful experiences for visitors.
