Hojlund is ready to leave MU. |
According to Corriere dello Sport , Rasmus Hojlund has agreed to join Inter in this summer's transfer window. Not only Hojlund, the reigning Champions League runners-up also want to acquire Joshua Zirkzee. However, Manchester United have no intention of letting Zirkzee leave.
If the Hojlund transfer to Inter goes through, MU could earn 40 million euros. The "Red Devils" will lose more than 30 million euros after just two seasons using the striker born in 2003. Nevertheless, the Old Trafford management is quickly raising funds to rebuild the squad.
On Inter's side, the Giuseppe Meazza club has been closely monitoring Hojlund for the past few weeks. With Joaquin Correa almost certainly leaving and Mehdi Taremi's future uncertain, the need for a quality backup striker has become urgent. Hojlund, who shone at Atalanta before moving to England, is considered an ideal option.
While MU demanded a transfer fee of 40 million euros, Inter only wanted a loan with an option to buy, or otherwise an obligation to buy under specific conditions such as a number of appearances or team performance.
On the positive side, all three parties—Inter, Hojlund, and Manchester United—are open to a move. Hojlund is willing to return to Serie A, where he thrived and feels comfortable playing. Manchester United, while not entirely accepting a loan deal, are also not being overly rigid unless Inter meets their financial demands.
If Hojlund leaves, MU will likely soon complete the signing of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting. The Swedish player has signaled his desire to move to Old Trafford this summer, despite not being in the Champions League. The 1998-born star has a release clause of 68 million euros.
