Stocks rose, with over 30 stocks closing at their upper limit.

The stock market closed the trading session in a clearly mixed state, with many leading stocks declining, while a series of stocks surged strongly, helping the main indices maintain their positive performance.

At the close of trading on February 3rd, the market saw mixed performance across different stock groups, but a bright spot was the number of stocks hitting the ceiling price exceeding 30, indicating continued positive capital flow. Regarding indices, the VN-Index rose 7 points to 1,813.4 points. The HNX-Index also increased by nearly 5 points, reaching 265.18 points.

Industrial stocks became the focus as many shares surged. GMD and CTD maintained their gains from the beginning to the end of the session. GEX closed in the purple (indicating a significant price increase), while VGC and GEE broke out strongly in the afternoon session and hit their upper limit.

In the distribution sector, PET and DGW recorded impressive gains. The non-essential consumer goods sector, especially textile stocks, had a positive trading session with VGT, MSH, and TCM seeing slight increases.

The financial sector showed a clear divergence in performance. BVH was a standout stock, hitting its ceiling price, along with gains in VIX, VCI, HCM, MBB, VCK, and VND. Conversely, many stocks faced downward pressure, such as HDB, TCB, STB, BID, and SHS.

In the real estate sector, KBC and SZC surged to their ceiling prices, while IDC, BCM, SIP, DIG, and VC3 also saw significant gains. On the downside, stocks like VHM, KDH, SJS, KHG, CEO, and PDR exerted downward pressure, reflecting the tug-of-war within this group.

The telecommunications services sector continues to maintain its position as the strongest performing group in the market, driven by stocks such as VGI, FOX, CTR, SGT, VTK, and TTN.

Despite continued market divergence and net selling by foreign investors exceeding 600 billion VND, the selling volume narrowed compared to the previous session. Strong gains across many sectors indicate that capital is still seeking opportunities, helping the indices maintain their upward momentum during the session.
