More than a decade of 'taking care of village affairs'

At the age of over 60, when many people are enjoying their lives with their children and grandchildren, Mrs. Pham Thi Hoc, in La Nac hamlet, La Bang commune, is still diligently "taking care of village affairs". Over the years, she has held many positions in the locality, including more than 10 years as both the Party cell secretary and the head of the hamlet front work committee - two responsibilities that seem "heavy" for a woman in her sixties, but she still completed them, contributing to making clear changes for her hometown.

With her contributions, Ms. Pham Thi Hoc has received many certificates of merit from all levels.

La Nac hamlet residents used to call Mrs. Hoc “the woman of the movement”. Anything related to the community, from mobilizing land donations, opening roads, building cultural houses to encouraging people to apply technical advances in production and animal husbandry, all had her mark. For her, “trust with the people” is more important than anything else, it is the motivation to continue to contribute persistently.

In the period of 2019-2024 alone, the numbers have partly shown Mrs. Hoc's efforts. Thanks to the efforts of Mrs. Hoc and the team of local officials and party members, La Nac people donated 2,500m² of land and nearly 2,000m of fence to widen more than 2km of 6m concrete road, pour concrete on nearly 1km of inner-field road and build a spacious cultural house on an area of ​​3,200m².

It all started from the community meetings, where Ms. Hoc patiently explained and convinced each household and each person. In every activity, she not only spoke, but also directly participated with the people in each step, making them admire and trust her.

During a conversation, we asked: "What makes you still have enough strength and patience to shoulder the village's work for all these years?" Mrs. Hoc smiled: Actually, I don't think much, I just think that if the people trust me, I have to do it well. The greatest thing is the love that the people have for me. Every time I see a road completed, a project put into use, and everyone is happy, I feel happy.

Not only contributing to the construction of rural infrastructure, Mrs. Hoc is also the one who has a firm grasp of production targets, persistently mobilizing people to plant new rice varieties, grow high-yield crops, and apply science and technology to raise livestock effectively. Environmental sanitation, keeping fields disease-free, timely epidemic prevention..., these seemingly trivial tasks are also mentioned by her over and over again, persistently until they become habits of the whole neighborhood.

Mrs. Pham Thi Hoc is always simple and friendly with people in the neighborhood.

What makes people respect Ms. Hoc is not only her dedication but also her example of "practicing what she preaches", always being proactive in all activities, whether it is public or domestic work. Ms. Hoc confided: To be trusted by the people, one must live an exemplary life. If a Party member makes mistakes, who will listen? Only when the people respect her will they listen.

For the people in the neighborhood, Mrs. Hoc's image is associated with sincerity and dedication. Mr. Nguyen Van Tu, a resident of La Nac neighborhood, shared: There are difficult tasks that no one would dare to take on, but Mrs. Hoc takes the lead. She speaks little, but does a lot, so people trust her. From donating land to build roads to contributing working days to build a cultural house, we all listen to Mrs. Hoc.

Thanks to the unity, the material and spiritual life of the people of La Nac hamlet has been significantly improved. 100% of the roads in the hamlet have been concreted and hardened. The rate of households achieving the title of cultural family has always reached over 95% every year. Up to now, the hamlet has only 2 poor households left...

These results have a great contribution from Ms. Pham Thi Hoc. From 2019 to now, Ms. Hoc has been continuously commended by all levels, and La Nac Party Cell has excellently completed its tasks for many years.

Although she has temporarily retired from her duties as Party cell secretary and head of the hamlet front work committee since the beginning of 2025 due to health reasons, the image of the petite, simple woman, still persistently going to every alley, calling every house to campaign for common work, has become a familiar memory of the people of La Nac...
