Meeting of Delegation Group No. 6 of the Provincial People's Council

On the afternoon of July 2nd, at the former Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee hall, Comrade Duong Van Trieu - Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Duyen Hai ward, and Head of Delegation Group No. 6 of the Provincial People's Council - chaired a meeting of the group members to prepare for the second session (the regular mid-year session of 2026) of the 11th Provincial People's Council. The session is expected to take place over two days, July 14th and 15th.

On the afternoon of July 2nd, at the former Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee hall, Comrade Duong Van Trieu - Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Duyen Hai ward, and Head of Delegation Group No. 6 of the Provincial People's Council - chaired a meeting of the group members to prepare for the second session (the regular mid-year session of 2026) of the 11th Provincial People's Council. Attending the meeting were: Comrade Lam Minh Dang - Deputy Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van Hieu - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department; Tran Thi Kim Chung - Provincial Party Committee Member, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of My Long commune; Thach Ngoc Dung - Full-time Member of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council; and the Standing Committee of the People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of 9 communes and wards: Ngu Lac, Long Huu, Hiep My, Cau Ngang, My Long, Vinh Kim, Nhi Truong, Duyen Hai ward and Truong Long Hoa.

Accordingly, at the meeting, delegates focused on discussing documents to be presented at the second session of the 11th Provincial People's Council, such as: the report on the socio -economic development situation in the first six months of 2026 and tasks and solutions for the last six months of 2026; the report on the results of state budget revenue and expenditure in the first six months of 2026; the report on the use of budget reserves and expenditure estimates decided by the Provincial People's Council that have not yet been allocated in detail to agencies, units, and localities of the provincial budget in 2026... The delegation also assigned delegates within the group to speak and discuss at the session and propose questions for the session, along with other related issues.

Comrade Duong Van Trieu - Head of Delegation Group No. 6 of the Provincial People's Council, delivered the concluding remarks at the meeting.

In particular, the delegates in the group focused on discussing and proposing solutions to contribute to the economic, cultural, and social development of localities as well as the province, with the determination to achieve double-digit growth. In addition, issues related to staffing in public service units at the commune level; decentralization and delegation of power to ensure local budget revenue; and the need for a roadmap for labor export to avoid imbalances in the local labor force were also discussed.

Outstanding startup entrepreneur of 2026 with coconut shell charcoal.From coconut processing factories in the province, tons of coconut shells are collected daily after the coconut flesh is separated. This byproduct, seemingly only used as fuel, is now becoming a raw material for a new business venture. From these hard, dry coconut shells, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy (born in 1991), Director of The World of Coal Company Limited (Phu Khuong ward), has built a business specializing in the production of activated charcoal and application products from coconut shell charcoal, contributing to increasing the value of the coconut industry chain and creating additional livelihoods for local workers.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lam Minh Dang provided delegates with an overview of the leadership and management work of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council. Accordingly, in the first six months of 2026, the province achieved many positive results in all fields.

Through this, Comrade Lam Minh Dang requested that at the provincial People's Council session, delegates uphold their roles and responsibilities as elected representatives; focus on discussing and proposing effective solutions to build upon achievements and overcome limitations and difficulties… On the other hand, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lam Minh Dang also suggested key issues that provincial People's Council delegates should research and discuss at the session, contributing to building a more prosperous and beautiful Vinh Long province.
