On July 1st, Huong Tram attracted attention with her return to the music scene with the MV " Gai Nghe" (Nghe An Girl) - a song composed by musician Ho Hoai Anh, with lyrics written by journalist Ha Quang Minh, arranged and produced by Producer Duong K, and mixed and mastered by Producer Hoang Huy Long.
In terms of music, the girl from Nghe An chose a contemporary folk style. The arrangement blends pop, electro, and rock, in the spirit that many recent Vietnamese music releases have pursued. The fast-paced, intense rhythm, combined with electronic sound effects, creates a youthful, vibrant feel, intentionally contrasting with the lyrics that are deeply rooted in traditional folk music.

The lyrics of the Nghệ An girl song are written in the style of the folk song "ví giặm," using the folk verse "the road to Nghệ An is winding" as a foundation, and then building the image of the Nghệ An girl through the way people in Central Vietnam speak, allowing the character to reveal her personality through each line of the song.
In this music video, Huong Tram showcases many familiar images of her hometown, from floral mats, plastic tablecloths, plastic wedding chairs, to the jerseys of the Song Lam Nghe An football club and old motorized rickshaws...
"Gái Nghệ" (Art Girl) is considered an interesting experiment in Huong Tram's artistic journey. The recently released MV has attracted the attention of netizens, especially the music-loving community. The female singer has been praised for her vocals and the concept behind the MV.
Huong Tram still delivers her familiar powerful and expressive voice, but with a fresh concept in her new music video. Many comments express delight that, after "Bac Bling ," Vietnamese music now has another MV that showcases local culture in a unique and interesting way. However, some opinions suggest that the visuals don't fully capture the cultural identity of Nghe An province and its women.
Sharing about the creation of this product, Huong Tram said she was inspired by the advice of her father - People's Artist Tien Dung - an artist who has dedicated his life to the folk songs of Nghe An province. "My father once told me that on my journey, if one day I slow down and have time, I should do something - however small - to give back to my homeland. I will always remember that reminder," the singer shared.
She added: "In the 2000s, my father used to make music videos about folk songs and traditional Vietnamese music. He gave me a lot of strength on this journey. And only when I had all the answers within me, when music knocked on the right door, did I decide to make a music video."
Responding to questions about singers like Hoang Thuy Linh, Hoa Minzy, and Son Tung M-TP incorporating cultural and folk elements into their music, Huong Tram admitted she was a latecomer. However, the singer emphasized that this wasn't too important because "cultural flows are beautiful whether upstream, midstream, or downstream."
