According to Digitaltrends , the product image was recently shared by HXL (@9550pro on X), a well-known leaker of CPUs. However, even the person who posted the image isn't sure if it's fake. Even if it is, it's uncertain whether Intel will actually release this CPU. While the image looks quite authentic, there are some inconsistencies in the lettering on the heatsink between the Core i9-14900KS and the Core i9-13900KS.
The image is allegedly of Intel's upcoming Core i9-14900KS CPU.
In fact, the existence of the Core i9-14900KS has been rumored since last November. Furthermore, Intel has released enthusiast-grade KS series CPUs for several generations, such as the Core i9-12900KS. Therefore, it makes sense for Intel to follow up the Core i9-14900K with a KS model for budget-conscious users who want a top-of-the-line Intel CPU without investing in overclocked versions.
If the Core i9-14900KS actually exists, this CPU model will likely come with the same number of cores as the Core i9-14900K, totaling 24 cores (8 high-performance cores and 16 power-efficient cores) and 32 threads. The difference lies in the fact that this processor has a boosted clock speed of up to 6.2 GHz. It's also possible that Intel will increase the TDP voltage to 150W, 25W higher than any other CPU in the Rapor Lake family.
In terms of price, this CPU model will most likely fall in the $600 to $750 range. Previously, the Core i9-14900K launched at $590.
