The iPad Air has been upgraded.

In addition to the M4 processor, the new generation iPad Air uses the N1 network chip and C1X cellular modem developed by Apple.

The M4 processor is the most significant improvement on the new iPad Air, which Apple just launched on the evening of March 2nd. Compared to the M3 chip in its predecessor, the M4 offers 30% faster performance when using multi-core CPU tasks, and is 2.3 times faster than the iPad Air M1.

With an 8-core CPU and 9-core GPU, Apple promises excellent graphics processing and gaming capabilities thanks to ray-tracing technology that is four times faster than the iPad Air M1.

The iPad Air M4 features 12GB of RAM, 50% more than its predecessor, and increased storage bandwidth to 120GB/s, enabling faster AI model execution. With its 16-core Neural Engine, the device can smoothly handle everyday AI tasks.

The overall design of the iPad Air M4 remains unchanged compared to recent generations. The upgrades mainly come from the processor and internal components.

Similar to the iPhone Air and iPad Pro M5, the iPad Air M4 uses the N1, a network chip developed by Apple for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread standards.

Thanks to the internal network chip, the company says features like mobile broadcasting and AirDrop on the product are more efficient and stable. Performance when connecting to 5 GHz Wi-Fi is also improved.

With its 5G version, the iPad Air M4 integrates the C1X modem. Compared to the iPad Air M3, this modem offers 50% faster network performance and 30% more energy efficiency. This is the next device to use three key chips developed by Apple: the processor, the network chip, and the 5G modem.

The iPad Air M4 features a 12MP front camera with horizontal Center Stage support, stereo speakers, and a USB-C port. The rear camera remains 12MP, supporting HDR photography and 4K video recording.

The accessories compatible with the iPad Air M4 remain unchanged, including the Apple Pencil (or Pencil Pro) and the Magic Keyboard. The product comes pre-installed with iPadOS 26 with the Liquid Glass interface, supporting multi-window multitasking and Apple Intelligence.

The 11-inch version of the iPad Air M4 starts at nearly 17 million VND for the Wi-Fi, 128GB storage option. The 13-inch model costs nearly 22 million VND for the same option. 5G versions or those with higher storage (up to 1TB) will cost more.

The iPad Air M4 comes in blue, purple, starlight, and space gray color options. In the US and select countries, pre-orders opened on March 4th, and it went on sale on March 11th. Apple has not yet announced a release date in Vietnam.

Apple still sells the Magic Keyboard for the iPad Air M4 for approximately 7.7 million VND (11-inch) and approximately 8.2 million VND (13-inch). Meanwhile, the Apple Pencil Pro costs approximately 3.5 million VND, and the Pencil USB-C costs approximately 2.2 million VND.
