The iPhone SE 4 will launch in March 2025.

According to internal sources, LG Innotek, one of Apple's camera suppliers, has begun manufacturing the camera module for the iPhone SE 4.

LG is known to stockpile components about three months before a new product launches, so it's highly likely the iPhone SE 4 will be unveiled in March 2025. The last time Apple announced the iPhone SE was on March 18, 2022.

Apple typically releases budget models every few years to save on component costs, thus maintaining a low price for the iPhone SE. While newer iPhones start at $799, the SE series is usually sold at $499.

With a design inspired by the iPhone 14, the iPhone SE is expected to offer several significant improvements, including an OLED screen (previous models only had traditional LCD screens).

Previously, according to reports from MacRumors and shared by the account Unknownz21 on social media, the iPhone SE 4 will be a modified version of the iPhone 14 with an impressive 6.1-inch OLED screen, a resolution of 2432 x 1170 pixels, and a pixel density of 460ppi.

This is the first time a device in the SE series has been equipped with an OLED screen, showing that Apple is paying more attention to improving the user experience even for products in the budget segment.

In terms of design, the iPhone SE 4 will have a square frame and flat glass on both the front and back, similar to the iPhone 14. Another notable point is that this phone will eliminate the traditional Home button and replace it with Face ID technology, making it more modern and keeping up with the general trend of the iPhone product line.

Additionally, leaker Unknownz21 also stated that the iPhone SE 4 will feature a new Action button, similar to the iPhone 16, to replace the mute switch. The device will use a single camera, with the sensor upgraded from 12MP to 48MP.

Some sources indicate that Apple sought to reduce costs by having BOE—Apple's cheapest screen supplier—produce 70% of the iPhone SE 4 screens. Additionally, the company requested that BOE use older generation OLED technology with lower maximum brightness than that used in the iPhone 13. Apple's goal was to purchase OLED panels at $40 to maintain good profit margins when selling them.

The iPhone SE 4 will feature the Apple A16 Bionic chip, a Qualcomm Snapdragon X70 baseband, and the Apple U1 UWB chip, which will provide excellent support for Apple Intelligence features. This will be one of the product's major highlights, allowing users to access advanced AI technologies at an affordable price.

In addition, other design changes to the iPhone SE 4 will include a new USB-C charging port, a premium aluminum frame, IP68 water and dust resistance, 20W wired fast charging and 12W MagSafe wireless charging, and support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3.
