Xẩm artist Mai Tuyết Hoa recently introduced her album "Mai Tuyết Hoa - Xẩm in Life vol. 2" to the audience, marking 30 years of spreading the art of xẩm singing as a key member of the Xẩm Hà Thành group.
Artist Mai Tuyet Hoa expressed her desire to bring the public a complete, fresh, and emotional experience with Xam (a traditional Vietnamese folk singing style). Therefore, she chose to blend both traditional and contemporary Xam styles, so that audiences can find a connection to their roots in traditional Xam, thereby spreading the spirit of Xam in contemporary life.

Xam artist Mai Tuyet Hoa releases album “Mai Tuyet Hoa - Xam in Life vol. 2”
The album comprises 9 songs: "Green Bamboo" (poem by Nguyen Duy, melody by Nguyen Quang Long); folk-style Xam songs with lyrics such as "One Quan is Six Hundred Dong", "Gambling Couple", and "Drifting Water Hyacinth"; and compositions by musician Nguyen Quang Long such as: "Father's Gratitude", "Thang Long's Glorious History", "Jealousy", "Stay Away From Vice", and "Hanoi 36 Sincere Love". Artist Pham Dinh Dung served as the music director for the album, recorded at Kien Ninh Studio.
"Drifting Water Hyacinths" is the only traditional xẩm song included by Mai Tuyết Hoa as a connection and tribute to her greatest teacher in her artistic life - xẩm artist Hà Thị Cầu. The remaining works all possess their own unique creative style, written and selected to suit Mai Tuyết Hoa's voice, xẩm singing style, and the artistic path she pursues.
According to the female artist, each xẩm song in the album is a unique message that she and musician Nguyen Quang Long want to send to the public. These stories all originate from everyday life, reflecting the struggles and difficulties of human existence, and from there guide people back to goodness.
