The forum was attended by 26 experts, scholars, intellectuals, journalists, and businesspeople from both countries, all of whom possess in-depth knowledge of Vietnam-China relations.

The two Parties, the two Governments , and the people of the two countries have supported and assisted each other in the struggle for national liberation and nation-building, forging a warm friendship that is "both comrades and brothers."

Chairman Phan Anh Son shared that the 12th Forum is taking place at a special time, in a special place, and in a special context, right in the homeland of Chairman Mao Zedong; following the historic reciprocal visits of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong (October 2022) and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping (December 2023).

The two parties and two countries have established a new position for bilateral relations, building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future, which has strategic significance.

At the forum, Mr. Yang Wanming, President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, reviewed the relations between the two countries, particularly emphasizing the significance of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping's visit to Vietnam in 2023, which deepened and elevated the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, building a strategically significant Vietnam-China community with a shared future based on the "six more" approach, creating opportunities for expanded cooperation.

The Communist Party of China and the Communist Party of Vietnam are currently the two largest communist parties in the world, responsible for leading their respective countries in contributing to world peace.

Both sides reaffirmed that the Vietnam-China friendship is a shared asset that needs to be inherited and promoted by all sectors of society and organizations such as the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

On June 25th and 26th, the forum focused on discussing three major topics: politics and international relations, economics and trade, and humanities and academic cooperation.

Earlier, on June 24, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Zhou Qiang, cordially received delegates participating in the 12th Vietnam-China People's Forum.

He emphasized that this year's forum is very significant as it is being held in Hunan Province, the birthplace of Chairman Mao Zedong. The relationship between the two countries, personally built and nurtured by Chairman Mao Zedong and President Ho Chi Minh, is developing extremely well and positively, with higher political trust and stronger practical cooperation.

Mr. Chu Qiang emphasized that China is in the process of promoting Chinese-style modernization, and Vietnam is also building a modernized country. Increased exchanges and sharing of experiences between the two sides will create new momentum for the development of each country. Looking towards the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, it is necessary to effectively implement the common understandings of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, contributing to building a China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future.

The Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference urged delegates attending the forum to actively discuss bilateral cooperation in politics, socio-economics, and culture, and to contribute suggestions to further promote the development of relations between the two countries.
