The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the Ceramics Festival.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung said that Bien Hoa pottery originated more than 300 years ago, closely associated with the development of the Southern region. Through the many changes of history, Bien Hoa pottery has retained its unique essence. The unique, rich, and diverse decorative art pottery products are decorated in a modern and sophisticated style, using low-fired glazes with delicate colors. The most distinctive feature and source of pride for Bien Hoa pottery is the "copper-green glaze with floral patterns." In addition, Bien Hoa pottery in Dong Nai is also famous for its unglazed earthenware products, which possess a natural beauty and are highly favored by the market.

In 1903, the Bien Hoa School of Fine Arts (now the Dong Nai College of Decorative Arts) was established, marking a significant turning point in the development of Bien Hoa pottery, marked by its artistic merit and renowned as "Bien Hoa Fine Art Pottery." Combining traditional elements of local pottery with Western pottery techniques, Bien Hoa Fine Art Pottery quickly established its independent position and unique style. Beyond its cultural and artistic contributions, the Fine Art Pottery industry also plays a vital role in the overall economic development of Dong Nai province.

He also expressed confidence that the traditional pottery craft will continue to receive support from scientists , all levels and sectors; active interest from investors; and consensus from the craft village community to preserve and develop it, thereby both preserving and awakening its potential, opening up prospects for connection and elevating its development in the region and the world.

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province affirmed that the Dong Nai Pottery Festival 2025 is not only a celebration of the pottery industry, but also an opportunity for Dong Nai to spread its cultural identity to friends both domestically and internationally. The event conveys a strong message about the province's commitment to building, preserving, and developing the pottery craft while promoting cultural values, protecting the environment, and embracing digital transformation, aiming to create new spaces and impetus for the rapid and sustainable development of the pottery industry.
