On the evening of March 29th, at Hung Vuong Square in Viet Tri City (Phu Tho province), the Organizing Committee for the 2025 Hung Vuong Ancestor Commemoration Ceremony held the opening ceremony of the Hung Vuong Ancestor Commemoration Ceremony and the Ancestor Land Culture and Tourism Week in the Year of the Snake - 2025.

At the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huy Ngoc stated that within the framework of this year's Hung Temple Festival and Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week, Phu Tho province is organizing a series of unique cultural, sports , and tourism events. Among them, the art program "Echoes of the Ancestral Roots" is a key highlight, a bridge connecting the past with the present, the origins with the development of the country. The program is deeply imbued with national spirit, arousing love for the homeland and bringing every Vietnamese person back to their sacred origins.

Following the opening ceremony, the art program "Echoes of the Ancestral Roots" recreated the image of "The hoofprints of Saint Giong's horse leaving behind hundreds of ponds and lakes, Ninety-nine elephants contributing to the founding of the Hung King's ancestral land." The vibrant and heroic atmosphere expressed through the singing and dancing in the program affirmed Phu Tho as the ancestral land, the cradle of the Hung King culture.

This performance marked the opening of the series of events for the Hung Temple Festival and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week in the year of the Snake 2025.

Throughout its millennia-long history, Phu Tho today is considered a cultural museum of the Vietnamese nation, with profound and distinctive imprints, a rich and diverse system of tangible and intangible cultural heritage associated with the Hung King era. Along with its system of historical and cultural relics, traditional festivals, and unique national intangible cultural heritage, Phu Tho is honored to possess two cultural heritages – the Hung King worshiping belief and Phu Tho Xoan singing – which have been inscribed by UNESCO as Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The Hung Kings Commemoration Day and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week in the year of the Snake - 2025, organized by the People's Committee of Phu Tho province, will take place from March 29th to April 7th (from the 1st to the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month) at the Hung Kings Temple Historical Site, Hung Kings Square, Viet Tri city. The festival includes many unique activities, reflecting the heroic spirit of the Hung Kings era, inherited and continued in contemporary society. The ceremonial part will be solemn, dignified, and respectful, following the national cultural tradition with the ritual of offering incense and flowers by delegations and citizens.

The festival includes numerous cultural, sports, and tourism activities creating a joyful, healthy atmosphere, deeply rooted in the cultural identity of the ancestral land. Highlights include: the Opening Ceremony of the 2025 Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week; the Ancestral Land Book Fair; a thematic exhibition introducing documents and artifacts from the Hung King era; a cultural camp and exhibition, promotion, and introduction of local products and specialties; a folk art and Phu Tho folk song festival; a performance of Xoan singing from ancient villages; a competition for wrapping and cooking banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) and pounding banh giay (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes); the Hung King Cup Volleyball Tournament for strong teams; and the "Back to the Roots" Marathon...
