(To Quoc) - On the evening of November 1, the 2024 Hanoi Open Theater Festival, organized by the Vietnam Theater Artists Association in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, opened at the Workers' Theater, Hanoi. The festival is a large-scale cultural and artistic activity to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Festival, People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, President of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association affirmed: Ha Noi A thousand years of civilization has always been the pride of Hanoians in particular and the people of the whole country in general. The heroic spirit and intelligence of Thang Long, the unique gallantry and elegance of Hanoi… have always been a strong source of inspiration for literature and art.

According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association, the 2024 Hanoi Stage Festival with the participation of art units in the genres of drama, cheo, ca luong, puppetry... is not only aimed at education, promoting the patriotic tradition, the glorious revolutionary tradition of the Party Committee, government, army and people of Hanoi throughout the struggle, construction and development of the heroic capital, the city for peace, but also an opportunity for art units to exchange and learn about academics, artistic creativity skills, to constantly improve professional qualifications, build works of high ideological value and artistic quality, meeting the expectations of the audience in the trend of integration and development.
Speaking at the festival, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Pham Xuan Tai said: Over the years, the capital city of Hanoi has always paid attention to investing and creating mechanisms for artists to freely create. Hanoi has been and is a typical bright spot in the national theater industry, with many outstanding and unique works serving all classes of people.

“The fact that the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports coordinates with the Vietnam Stage Artists Association to organize the Hanoi Stage Festival, which is held every two years, continues to affirm the city's development goals and viewpoints. That is, culture is the foundation and driving force for development; valuing cultural values and caring for people's spiritual life is the top priority task,” emphasized the Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports.
Entering its 6th season, the Festival has shaped the brand of the capital city of Hanoi. The 2024 Hanoi Open Stage Festival attracts the participation of 12 art units (Hanoi Drama Theater, Vietnam Opera House, Vietnam Tuong Theater, Cheo Theater). Hai Phong, Cheo Theater Bac Giang, Army Cheo Theater, Thang Long Puppetry Theater, Youth Theater, Vietnam Puppetry Theater, Hanoi Cai Luong Theater, Hanoi Cheo Theater, Lucteam Stage), bringing 12 outstanding stage works.

Immediately after the Opening Ceremony, artists from the Hanoi Drama Theater opened the Festival with the play: “Space”. The remaining plays will be performed at the Workers Theater, Dai Nam Theater and other theaters in Hanoi.
The Hanoi Open Theatre Festival 2024 will close on the evening of 9/11 at Dai Nam Theater, Hanoi./.
