This is the first time in the cultural and tourism history of the heritage city that the Hue International Tea Festival has been held, transforming the majestic Imperial Palace into a giant "tea room," a gathering place for the finest tea ceremony traditions from around the world.
The Hue International Tea Festival 2025 will take place over three days, from December 10-12, 2025, at Truong Sanh Palace - Hue Imperial Citadel, featuring many highlights such as: the Opening Ceremony and Seminar "Tea in the Flow of Culture and Creativity"; a Tea Exhibition showcasing a diverse range of products from traditional to modern, including sparkling tea, tea cocktails, tea-based cosmetics, and accompanying dishes; and a "Teatender - Modern Tea Brewing" competition promoting Truoi tea as a new specialty of contemporary Vietnamese tea.
In addition, there are other notable activities such as: Tea art performances and exchange activities between participating units; a tea-nourishing program with the theme "Drink Tea - A Journey of Reconnection"; a reenactment of the "Imperial Tea Ceremony" as a vivid glimpse into the solemn atmosphere of the capital; the closing ceremony and the "Moon Dance Tea Flower" art program, along with many other accompanying activities.

The opening ceremony at Truong Sanh Palace - Hue Imperial Citadel became a highlight, impressively featuring a recreated real-life stage resembling a green tea garden in the heart of the heritage site. Here, nature, ancient architecture, and performing arts harmonized, creating a vibrant ink painting that transported viewers back in time, allowing them to touch the essence of ancient court rituals while still feeling the modern spirit of a global cultural festival.
According to the organizers, this event goes beyond simply promoting agricultural products; it is also positioned as a profound cultural journey, celebrating Vietnamese tea art imbued with Zen philosophy, and opening a new chapter for health and wellness tourism in Vietnam.
The meticulously staged and spectacular art program, with a stage designed like a tea garden amidst the heritage site, blends nature, culture, and art within the ancient setting of the Imperial Palace, promising to create a special impression and kick off a festival full of highlights, novelty, and appeal.

Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Tram, Director of the Hue City Department of Tourism, said: The Hue International Tea Festival 2025 is an international cultural and tourism event held in Hue City to honor Vietnamese tea culture, connect dialogue between artisans and tea producers from Vietnam and abroad, revitalize the tea industry through traditional and innovative products, and create a cultural and health tourism space with a strong Vietnamese identity.
“Organizing for the first time, the Hue International Tea Festival 2025 promises to be an important starting point, laying the groundwork for the formation of an annual event with profound cultural, artistic, and tourism significance, contributing to enriching the identity and increasing the attractiveness of Hue as a destination in the international tourism landscape,” Ms. Tram emphasized.
