
Attending the opening ceremony, from the central government were: Mr. Nguyen Tuan Linh – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Lan – Director of the Department of Culture and Arts, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Mr. Dang Tran Cuong – Director of the Cinema Department; Mr. Ngo Tuan Phong – Deputy Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions; and Mr. Ho Sy Minh – Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.
Representing Nghe An province were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Bui Dinh Long – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Van Dung – Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Tran Thi My Hanh – Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism ; representatives from provincial departments and agencies, along with a large number of people from Vinh City.

In his opening remarks at the exhibition, Mr. Ngo Tuan Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions, stated: On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the People's Committee of Nghe An province, is organizing the photo exhibition "ASEAN Countries and People". This is one of the cultural and artistic activities at the 2025 Lang Sen Festival.

The exhibition displays 200 photographs by authors from 10 ASEAN countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia; including 30 selected photographs from Nghe An submitted by Nghe An photographers.

The works showcase the countries, people, economy, culture, society, and cooperative activities and exchanges among ASEAN nations. Through these works, understanding and connection among nations are enhanced; contributing to building a united, resilient, cooperative, and diverse ASEAN community, continuing to write success stories and making increasingly positive contributions to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.

The exhibition also contributes to enriching the content of the 2025 Lotus Village Festival; it is an opportunity to promote and introduce to a wide audience of people in the country as well as international friends about Nghe An, a revolutionary land with resilient, hardworking people, beautiful and abundant nature, the birthplace and nurturing ground of a great personality - Ho Chi Minh.

This is also a valuable opportunity for photography enthusiasts and photographers from Vietnam and ASEAN countries to enhance interaction, learn from each other, and further strengthen solidarity, understanding, and respect.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, affirmed: The exhibition "ASEAN Countries and People" is a deeply meaningful event organized by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth.

The exhibition is not only an opportunity for the public of Nghe An to access and enjoy selected outstanding photographic works from the region, but also a cultural bridge, contributing to fostering pride in the homeland and country; spreading the spirit of solidarity and friendship within the ASEAN community. At the same time, it is also a valuable opportunity to introduce the beauty of nature, people, and culture of Nghe An to friends at home, in the region, and around the world.
The exhibition is scheduled to take place from May 12th to 22nd, 2025.
