China has long been a key international market for Vietnamese tourism in general, and Quang Ninh province in particular. As a province sharing both land and sea borders with China, Quang Ninh has proactively promoted tourism activities, facilitating and connecting tours and travel agencies, thereby attracting tourists from this populous nation.
With the advantage of being a key tourist destination bordering China, and having convenient and synchronized air, road, and sea transportation, many travel agencies in Quang Ninh have proactively connected with partners to understand the needs and preferences of tourists, focusing on innovating products and services from cruises, hotels, restaurants, and destinations, ensuring the conditions for serving Chinese tourists.
Possessing attractive, unique, and distinctive destinations, along with a convenient transportation system, Quang Ninh - Ha Long has received positive signals from the Chinese tourist market. Recently, the 5-star cruise ship Costa Serena docked at Ha Long International Cruise Port, bringing 3,040 tourists from Hong Kong, China to Ha Long. This is the second time in 2024 that the Italian-flagged Costa Serena, famous for its itineraries in Asia, has brought tourists to Ha Long on the Hong Kong - Ha Long and Ha Long - Hong Kong routes.

Travel agencies and the Ha Long International Cruise Port have organized transportation, introductions, and promotions to tourists about unique sightseeing and tourism activities in the province. Tourists have had many attractive experiences at the World Heritage Site and natural wonder of Ha Long Bay, visited the Quang Ninh Museum, taken city tours to experience culture and cuisine, and visited many other tourist destinations.
Previously, the 5-star luxury cruise ship Costa Serena brought approximately 3,500 tourists from Hong Kong, China to Quang Ninh. The tourists had the opportunity to experience and explore Ha Long Bay, discover destinations, culture, and cuisine in Quang Ninh and Ha Long City. It is known that the Costa Serena will return to Ha Long Bay several more times in the coming months.
Besides attracting international tourists by sea, Quang Ninh, with its long border with China, is also actively promoting and connecting Chinese tourists by land. For example, recently, the Department of Transportation of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) and the Department of Transportation of Quang Ninh Province (Vietnam) authorized the New National Route Transport Group Co., Ltd. (China) to cooperate with the Vietnam-China Global Friendship Group Joint Stock Company (Vietnam) to operate a fixed passenger transport route between Nanning City (China) and Ha Long City (Vietnam) via the Bac Luan II Bridge customs clearance point. This passenger transport service between Nanning (China) and Ha Long (Vietnam) contributes to diversifying tourism products for visitors to Ha Long - Quang Ninh.
Accordingly, the Vietnam-China Global Friendship Group Joint Stock Company is implementing a passenger bus transportation plan with a fixed international schedule: Departure point from Fengling Passenger Station (Nanning, China) - destination is Bai Chay Bus Station (Quang Ninh, Vietnam). Main route: Nanning (G75 Lanhai Expressway, G7511 Qindong Expressway) - Dongxing - Dongxing Border Gate (China) - Mong Cai Border Gate - Mong Cai Expressway - Ha Long - Bai Chay - Ha Long (Vietnam).
The bus departs from Fengling Station at 9:00 AM (China time), stopping at Dongxing Station at 11:00 AM (China time) on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with a frequency of one trip per day; arriving at Bai Chay Bus Station (Ha Long City) at 2:30 PM (Vietnam time). The return bus from Ha Long to Nanning departs from Bai Chay Bus Station (Ha Long City) at 10:30 AM (Vietnam time) on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with a frequency of one trip per day, stopping at Dongxing Station at 2:00 PM (China time), and arriving at Fengling Station at 4:30 PM (China time).
After a period of operation, the passenger transport route between Nanning City (China) and Ha Long City (Vietnam) via the Bac Luan II Bridge customs clearance point has received very positive feedback, attracting a large number of Chinese tourists to Ha Long - Quang Ninh.
It is evident that with its rich and unique tourism resources, coupled with a synchronized and modern transportation infrastructure including air, road, and sea routes, facilitating convenient and quick travel for Chinese tourists, Quang Ninh's destinations will undoubtedly continue to attract Chinese visitors in the future.
