On November 12th, 1952 (the year of the Water Dragon), corresponding to December 28th, 1952 in the Gregorian calendar, due to the significant increase in the number of Cao Dai followers from various provinces flocking to the Cao Dai Holy Land to settle, Guardian Pham Cong Tac proactively initiated the construction of Long Hoa Market. He based his work on the location and his own design, with the primary goal of providing a convenient trading place for Cao Dai followers. This commencement not only marked the need for commercial space but also symbolized unity and prosperity within the Cao Dai community.

Long Hoa Market is an architectural masterpiece situated on a square plot of land, featuring a cross-shaped market building surrounded by eight gates opening onto eight streets, each representing a profound meaning: Tai Chi gives rise to the Two Principles (Yin and Yang), Yin and Yang give rise to the Four Symbols, the Four Symbols give rise to the Eight Trigrams, and the Eight Trigrams give rise to the Universe and all living beings.

The name "Long Hoa" specifically signifies the opening of the Long Hoa Assembly, a final judgment examination in the Lower Era to select the Buddha, presided over by Maitreya Buddha himself. The Long Hoa Market has eight main gates, each with its own direction and meaning:

- Gate One faces north, connecting to the Holy See.

- Gate Ba faces west and is connected to Go Ken Pagoda and the Tay Ninh River.

- The Fifth Gate faces south, connecting to the Giang Tan area and towards Saigon.

- Gate Seven faces east, connecting to the Palace of Wisdom.
