The Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant Resettlement Project has a total land acquisition area of approximately 485 hectares; of which the plant area is over 409 hectares, the resettlement area is about 65 hectares, and the remainder is for auxiliary technical infrastructure and other works. The project affects approximately 477 households, with more than 2,000 people in Phuoc Dinh commune. The resettlement area is planned with about 730 land plots, with comprehensive investment in technical and social infrastructure, aiming to ensure long-term stability of life and livelihood for the people. The total investment for the project is over 3,200 billion VND, mainly allocated to compensation, support, resettlement, and the construction of essential facilities serving the people in the project area. Based on the capital allocated by the Central Government, the province has been implementing comprehensive preparatory steps, focusing on land clearance and the construction of the Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant resettlement area.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Minh Hoang emphasized that the people here have gone through two phases of the project's implementation, patiently waiting for nearly 15 years. Despite facing numerous difficulties due to the prolonged planning process, the households have shown a great sense of responsibility and consensus. The province particularly acknowledges and appreciates the sharing of the people of Phuoc Dinh commune, who were willing to give up land, relocate their homes, and prioritize national interests over family interests to facilitate the project's implementation. This support is a key factor, a crucial element determining the success of a national-scale project.

In response to the people's trust, the province has identified this as a particularly important political task. Therefore, in recent times, the province has directed departments, agencies, and localities to resolutely implement many solutions with clear assignment of tasks and timelines, striving to start construction of the resettlement area in 2025. To date, the inventory, surveying, and determination of land ownership in the project area have been basically completed; procedures for establishing and approving specific land prices as a basis for compensation are being expedited in accordance with regulations.
Implement with decisiveness and determination.
In the context of Vietnam aiming for double-digit economic growth and a projected 15% to 18% annual increase in electricity demand, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed that the development of nuclear power is essential to ensure a clean, low-emission electricity source. The government has set a clear roadmap, striving to complete the Ninh Thuan 1 and 2 Nuclear Power Plant projects before 2031, in anticipation of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party and the 85th anniversary of the founding of the nation. To realize this goal, the National Assembly has enacted specific mechanisms and policies to ensure the highest level of compensation and support for affected people. Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son urged ministries, agencies, and Khanh Hoa province to participate with the utmost determination, as the project is not just a power plant, but is expected to become a new symbol of a prosperous and powerful Vietnam.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong affirmed that the Provincial People's Committee will focus on decisively, synchronously, and effectively leading and directing the implementation of the project; clearly assigning responsibilities and timelines, emphasizing the role of the head of each agency; accelerating progress while ensuring quality, transparency, and compliance with the law. The province will implement the project in accordance with the spirit of the Deputy Prime Minister's directive "putting the people at the center," ensuring that the resettlement area is comprehensive, and that the living conditions of the people are equal to or better than their previous homes, preventing the emergence of complex problems and complaints; continuing to do a good job of propaganda, mobilization, dialogue, and listening; paying full and genuine attention to the legitimate rights and interests of the people in the project area, creating the highest level of consensus for the project to be implemented smoothly and sustainably. With a sense of responsibility to the Party, the State, and the People, the Provincial People's Committee is committed to seriously and effectively implementing the directives of the Government leaders, and is determined to work with central ministries and agencies to successfully implement the Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant Resettlement Project so that it can be put into operation soon, resettle affected households, and facilitate the implementation of the nuclear power project.
