Unleashing the power of the people in Dong Dang

- Over the years, the Fatherland Front (MTTQ) at all levels in Dong Dang commune has continuously innovated its methods of operation, playing a core role in gathering and uniting all strata of the people.

Cadres, Party members, and local people joined hands to build a road for inspecting border markers and protecting border number 1146/1 in Na An village, Dong Dang commune.

According to Ms. Dao Thi Thanh Mai, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Dang commune, in order to gain the people's consensus and active participation in the implementation of movements and campaigns, the Fatherland Front has devised content and methods of propaganda suitable to the level of education and customs of the people in the commune; promoting propaganda directed towards the grassroots, putting the people at the center, strengthening dialogue and listening to create consensus.

As in land clearance work, with many key projects in the commune, to gain people's consent to hand over the land, the Party committee, government, and Fatherland Front at all levels emphasized during the propaganda process that the people themselves would benefit when the projects were completed. Cadres working with the Fatherland Front from the commune to the village level were assigned to participate in working groups, directly going to each village and household to listen to people's thoughts and aspirations; promptly reflecting legitimate requests from the people, contributing to ensuring transparency in the compensation, support, and resettlement process.

From 2022 to the present, the Fatherland Front at all levels in Dong Dang commune has mobilized the people to donate over 10,000 square meters of land and contribute nearly 1,500 days of labor to build roads and public welfare facilities.

With high determination, this team worked even on holidays, taking advantage of lunch breaks and evenings to directly persuade households affected by the project. As a result, within one month, 100% of the land for projects under the smart border gate pilot scheme was handed over; for the Huu Nghi Border Gate - Chi Lang expressway project, 893 out of 902 households have handed over their land, including nearly 70 households that had to relocate their homes and have received compensation and agreed to hand over their land early.

Mr. Vy Vinh Phu, from Po Nghieu village, Dong Dang commune, said: "My family has rice paddies that are affected by the Huu Nghi Border Gate - Chi Lang expressway project. Through propaganda and persuasion, I understand the purpose and significance of the project in promoting socio -economic development. Therefore, my family agrees to hand over the land."

At the same time, the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune always focuses on promoting the core role of the Front's working committees, considering them the force that is most direct, closest to the people, and understands the people best in implementing movements and campaigns. The implementation process always ensures the principles of democracy and transparency, adhering to the motto "the people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, the people supervise, and the people benefit," thereby creating high consensus and positive response from the people. Ms. Dam Thi Nhau, Deputy Secretary of the Party branch and Head of the Front Committee of Na Pan village, Dong Dang commune, shared: "In 2024, I participated in disseminating information and mobilizing nearly 30 households to donate land for the construction of inter-village roads. When disseminating information, we adopted a 'start with the easy tasks first, then the difficult ones' approach, meaning we began with households that already had a positive understanding and were willing to support the project, creating a ripple effect. We analyzed the long-term benefits of expanding the roads for economic development, transportation, and the education of their children. As a result, all households voluntarily donated land, helping the road to be completed on schedule."

To ensure effective propaganda and mobilization efforts, the Fatherland Front of the commune is promoting the application of information technology, effectively utilizing the public address system and village Zalo groups to promptly convey the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws. The content of the propaganda is linked to issues of public concern, contributing to increased effectiveness. At the same time, emphasis is placed on commending and replicating advanced models and exemplary practices, spreading the movement widely throughout the community.

Recognizing the efforts and achievements, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Dang commune recently received a Certificate of Commendation from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for its outstanding performance in implementing Project No. 05 dated August 11, 2022, of the Provincial Party Committee on continuing to innovate the content and methods of operation of the Fatherland Front and political -social organizations until 2025 and beyond.
