Two suspects charged with inter-provincial theft.

On December 16th, the Criminal Police Department of Quang Binh Provincial Police announced that they had initiated a criminal case, indicted the suspects, and issued a temporary detention order against two individuals involved in numerous inter-provincial and inter-city theft cases.

The two suspects are Tran Van Diep (59 years old, residing in Binh Thuan ) and Dang Van Ngoc (55 years old, residing in Quang Ngai).

At the investigative agency, the two suspects admitted to committing more than 100 thefts in provinces and cities from Central Vietnam to the South since 2005, using the tactic of wandering around and posing as street vendors to scout out offices and factories.

Diep and Ngoc usually strike on weekends, when offices and factories are closed and there are few people around, to sneak into safes and steal the money, which they then divide between themselves.

After that, they each went their separate ways, and when they ran out of money and needed to commit new robberies, they would contact each other again.

According to investigators, the two suspects were responsible for the theft of a safe at Kien Giang Forestry Station (Le Thuy District, Quang Binh Province) on June 25th, and several similar thefts in Lam Dong, Gia Lai, and Dong Nai provinces.

On December 15th, the Quang Binh Provincial Police issued a decision to initiate criminal proceedings, indict the suspects, and order the temporary detention of Diep and Ngoc, and are continuing to expand the investigation.
