Boosting domestic tourism in Ho Chi Minh City.

(Thanhuytphcm.vn) – On June 9th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, organized the 2020 Ho Chi Minh City Domestic Tourism Stimulus Conference to promote and introduce Ho Chi Minh City as a safe, vibrant, friendly, and hospitable city, as well as to respond to the "Vietnamese People Travel in Vietnam" program launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Tran Vinh Tuyen, attended the conference.

Speaking at the conference, the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, Bui Ta Hoang Vu, said that the domestic tourism stimulus program in 2020 officially started in June 2020 and lasted until the end of 2020 with many unprecedented deep discounts. The highlight of this year's tourism stimulus program in Ho Chi Minh City is a group of renewed tourism products showcasing the city's signature destinations with preferential prices and attractive services such as: a high-tech agricultural zone experience program, a cooking class for tourists, a trip to Thanh An Island - Can Gio, a tour of Cu Chi - Ben Duoc for 99,000 VND/ticket, a Cu Chi - Educational Eco-tourism program "Returning Home" for 119,000 VND/ticket, a city tour of the History Museum - Vinh Nghiem Pagoda - Gigamal Shopping Center for 135,000 VND/ticket, a river bus tour to visit the Ao Dai Museum and The BCR tourist area with a 34% discount, and a Hop on Hop off double-decker bus tour of Ho Chi Minh City with a 50% discount on tickets…

In addition, 12 tourist attractions and entertainment venues in the city will offer discounts of 20% - 50% on entrance fees, such as Skydeck Bitexco (50% discount on entrance fees), Vam Sat Tourist Area (free entrance for individual visitors)... Besides tours within Ho Chi Minh City, travel agencies also offer multi-destination tours to Lam Dong , Binh Thuan, the Mekong Delta, the Central Highlands, Central Vietnam, and northern provinces with many attractive promotions to implement the "Vietnamese people travel in Vietnam" program.

At the 2020 Ho Chi Minh City Domestic Tourism Stimulus Conference, the Ho Chi Minh City tourism stimulus website was announced and officially launched to provide tourists with complete, detailed, and timely information about promotional programs offered by participating businesses. Tourists can search for tour programs by destination or price, with full information about the tour operator, tour program, and validity period, at www.kichcaudulichtphcm.vn. The website is also directly linked to the websites of participating businesses and social media platforms to increase interaction between tourists and service providers.

The Organizing Committee also expects that the Ho Chi Minh City domestic tourism stimulus program in 2020 will be widely supported by the people and tourists, contributing to the preservation and promotion of cultural and historical values; thereby making Vietnamese people love and be proud of their homeland even more; creating more motivation for the tourism industry to overcome difficulties and challenges, quickly recover, and contribute effectively to the economic development of the city in particular and the whole country in general.

At the conference, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen acknowledged the efforts of the Department of Tourism and the Tourism Association in coordinating the stimulus program, creating momentum for businesses to boldly implement stimulus packages.

According to Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen, in the coming time, the city's tourism industry needs to strengthen communication and promotion for the "Vietnamese People Travel in Vietnam" program and the domestic tourism stimulus program in Ho Chi Minh City. It should also refine new tourism products to meet the needs and tastes of various segments of domestic tourists; and research the possibility of adding medical tourism and other potential tourism products to the tourism stimulus program to leverage the city's advantages in attracting tourists.

In addition, continue researching and connecting businesses in the city and other provinces and cities to create attractive domestic tourism stimulus tours with reasonable quality and prices; expand the number of participating businesses and ensure the quality of these stimulus tours. Develop a modern and attractive tourism stimulus website; making it an appealing information channel for tourism stimulus activities. Coordinate closely with the health sector to ensure absolute safety during the organization of tourism and service activities.
