On March 17th, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Official Letter No. 945/UBND-TTĐT to the Nam Tu Liem District People's Committee requesting them to investigate and address the information published in the press article "4.3 hectares of agricultural land in the heart of the capital 'disappears?'" reflecting the situation where thousands of square meters of agricultural land in Me Tri Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, have been transformed into warehouses, weighing stations, football fields, etc., for many years without a definitive solution.
Regarding this matter, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh instructed the Nam Tu Liem District People's Committee to take the lead and coordinate with relevant units to urgently investigate and clarify the information reflected in the press, and strictly handle the matter according to the law. At the same time, they should consider the responsibility of collectives and individuals in accordance with Directive No. 24-CT/TU dated August 7, 2023, of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee "On strengthening discipline and responsibility in resolving work in the political system of Hanoi" if violations occur; and report the results to the Hanoi People's Committee before March 28, 2025.
On the same day, March 17th, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Official Letter No. 946/UBND-TTĐT to the Hanoi Police Department to investigate press reports reflecting the situation in Thach Hoa commune, Thach That district: "Hanoi: People brazenly occupy tens of thousands of square meters of land, threatening to 'deal with' family members of officials." The letter reported that tens of thousands of square meters of project land, resettlement land, and national defense land in Thach Hoa commune, Thach That district, have been illegally occupied, leveled, exploited, and soil transported. Furthermore, when local authorities tried to stop the illegal activities, they were threatened with harm to family members, causing widespread anxiety and concern.
Regarding this matter, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has directed the City Police to take the lead and coordinate with relevant units to urgently investigate and clarify the information reflected in the press, and strictly handle any violations (if any). At the same time, they should consider the responsibility of collectives and individuals in accordance with Directive No. 24-CT/TU dated August 7, 2023, of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee "On strengthening discipline and responsibility in handling work in the political system of Ho Chi Minh City" if violations occur; and report to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City before March 27, 2025.
