KIM DUNG, the "steel" champion

Having been involved in bodybuilding for 10 years, and about the same number of years pursuing aerobics, Nguyen Thi Kim Dung is now considered one of the strongest athletes in the country. She has also gradually conquered international competitions, with a collection of achievements that is increasingly growing significantly.

The results of perseverance

Because she was too small, secondary school student Kim Dung was sent by her family to do aerobics to improve her figure and have the health to study at school. She followed this subject for many years until she started to switch to bodybuilding without thinking that her life would change with her own choice.

Getting acquainted with two types of fitness and classic bodybuilding thanks to her love of creativity on the stage and the desire to build a suitable body frame, after only 3 years, Kim Dung gradually pursued her goal of becoming a professional athlete.

Injuries, illness and a body affected by the seemingly unbearable training process for a woman, Kim Dung once thought of leaving the harsh path.

Until now, Kim Dung still often has to explain to the students of Jessy Private Gym, the training "oven" she is in charge of, about the possibility of "being" ugly in shape, having bulky muscles that are not feminine in the eyes of women, or having hormonal changes, changing voice, personality... She is always confident with her physical beauty despite having to face tactless comments.

It was the students who followed their teacher to the tournaments and witnessed Kim Dung's victory. Except for the year 2021 when the national tournament could not be held due to the COVID-19 outbreak, from 2017 to now, Kim Dung has "dominated" the female fitness and classical bodybuilding events for female athletes under 1.65 m tall, with 8 "doubles" of gold medals within 9 years.

International reach

Starting to test her strength at the 2023 Southeast Asian Championship and encouraged by the gold medal in the women's classical bodybuilding event, Kim Dung confidently set a goal: every year she will participate in at least 2/3 international tournaments organized by the World Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (WBPF).

Also since 2023, Kim Dung has continuously added to her collection of achievements with continental and world gold medals. Winning the classical bodybuilding event for female athletes under 1.65 m tall at the 2025 World Championships taking place in Indonesia helped her achieve a "golden hat-trick" - an achievement that not every athlete can achieve.

The year 2025 is a memorable milestone in Kim Dung's life. In April, the 30-year-old female athlete was awarded the First Class Labor Medal by the President for her achievement of winning the world championship title for two consecutive years. In August, she won two gold medals at the Asian Championship. In October, Kim Dung extended her achievements at the national championship with the 15th and 16th gold medals of her career. In November, she won the world gold medal for the third consecutive year in the women's classical bodybuilding category.
