The people of the Mining Region are proud that UNESCO has recently officially recognized the Complex of Monuments and Landscapes of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac as a world cultural heritage. Of which, Quang Ninh is the locality that owns 5/12 clusters and relic sites in this world cultural heritage complex.

Quang Ninh has always been proud of owning Ha Long Bay. This is a natural wonder that has been honored by UNESCO three times as a world natural heritage for its outstanding global aesthetic value, geological and geomorphological value, and unique and majestic landscape. With its own values, Ha Long Bay is always a favorite destination for domestic and foreign tourists. The proof is that from 1996 to now, this World Heritage - Natural Wonder has welcomed nearly 60 million visitors.

Along with world natural heritage and world cultural heritage, Quang Ninh currently has over 640 historical and cultural relics, scenic spots, and over 360 intangible cultural heritages in 7 categories including: Traditional folk festivals, heritage, traditional crafts, folk performing arts heritage, folk language and literature heritage, social customs heritage, spoken and written heritage and folk knowledge heritage.

Heritage - World Natural Wonder Ha Long Bay is always a favorite destination for domestic and international tourists.

Quang Ninh currently has 19 heritages included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List, including: Then practice of the Tay, Nung, and Thai people; Nha To singing; Cua Ong Temple Festival; Tien Cong Festival; Tra Co Communal House Festival; Quan Lan Communal House Festival; Bach Dang Festival; Soong Co folk singing performance art of the San Chi people; Soong Co folk singing performance art of the San Diu people; Dam Ha Communal House Festival; Van Ninh Communal House Festival; Xuong Dong Festival; Wind Abstinence Custom of the Dao people in Dong Van commune, Binh Lieu district (now Hoanh Mo commune, Quang Ninh province); Cap Sac ceremony of the Dao Thanh Y people; New Rice Celebration Ceremony of the Tay people; Folk knowledge of the art of sewing traditional costumes of the San Chi people; Folk knowledge of the art of sewing and decorating costumes of the Dao Thanh Phan people; Social customs and beliefs of the Harvest Praying Festival of the San Chi people; Folk performance art of singing in the coastal areas of Quang Ninh province. In particular, Quang Ninh has the Then heritage of the Tay people and is one of 11 provinces with Then of the Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups in Vietnam recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Along with that, the whole province has nearly 120 festivals, of which nearly 80 traditional festivals are held throughout the year, especially vibrant in spring and Lunar New Year, attracting millions of tourists to visit, worship and enjoy the festival every year.

Over the years, Quang Ninh has always identified the development of a green, sustainable, and circular economy as a particularly important task. In particular, the province has both strengthened conservation and preservation, and effectively exploited and promoted the special values of heritage to serve the goal of rapid, strong, and sustainable growth.

To continue promoting the existing heritage treasure, in the Draft Political Report submitted to the 16th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, Quang Ninh determined to continue positioning and promoting the value of the Ha Long - Quang Ninh tourism brand associated with the World Heritage - Natural Wonder of Ha Long Bay, the World Cultural Heritage of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac. Developing culture, people, building a culture rich in Quang Ninh identity, preserving and promoting heritage values, developing heritage economy. Continuing to implement three strategic breakthroughs identified by the 13th National Party Congress and the 15th Provincial Party Congress, including developing a culture rich in Quang Ninh identity, associated with building and developing cultural industry, heritage economy, night economy; gradually building Quang Ninh to become a leading attractive destination for heritage and cultural tourism in Asia and the world.

With new strategies, orientations and plans in the future, it is certain that heritage economy will continue to be an important element in the economic development of Quang Ninh, becoming one of the new growth drivers of the province.
