Cadres and Party members in Phu Ho pledge to unite and work together.

Leveraging strengths

Secretary of the Phu Ho Commune Party Committee, Tran Kim Nhan, affirmed: In the 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the Party Congress of the communes (Phu Luong, Phu Xuan, Phu Ho) before their merger into the new Phu Ho commune, the Party Committee, military, and people of the commune have achieved important results in various fields. Compared to the beginning of the term, the economic scale has increased 1.6 times, reaching 109% of the plan. Services account for 32.2% of the economic structure, contributing to becoming an important economic sector of the commune. Industry and construction account for 39.5% and agriculture, forestry, and fisheries account for 28.3% of the economic structure. The area for producing high-quality rice varieties is 797 hectares, accounting for 40.3%; the production value per unit area reached over 90 million VND/hectare. The average grain production is 24,522 tons, reaching 103% of the plan.

The entire commune has nearly 700 hectares of aquaculture area, mainly using mixed farming methods; the total annual catch and aquaculture production averages over 830 tons, reaching 103.8% of the plan. For many years, Phu Ho rice has been selected as a typical national-level rural agricultural product. Phu Luong straw mushrooms and Phu Xuan chicken eggs are reputable local brand products, favored by consumers.

Phu Ho is located within the urban development zone and is designated as a reserve for expanding functional development space for Hue City, with its main function being urban development and commercial services. According to Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune, Phu Ho is a new urban area, developing residential areas, agricultural and ecological tourism service areas, and community tourism combined with the lagoon ecosystem. It is a driving urban area contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality.

Therefore, developing a new urban area in Phu Ho along the road connecting the center of Hue city and Phu Vang commune presents an opportunity to invest in tourism infrastructure, develop services, Tam Giang lagoon tourism, eco-agricultural tourism, and community-based tourism combined with ecology, creating conditions for Phu Ho to become a region with favorable economic development conditions.

The key objectives and tasks for Phu Ho in the new term are to strengthen transportation connectivity, upgrade the road system, especially Provincial Road 3 and inter-communal roads, connecting Phu Ho commune with the center of Hue city and surrounding areas. At the same time, it aims to attract investment and develop logistics, transportation, and warehousing services to serve the city's needs, and encourage the development of commercial centers and hubs.

“Exploiting the potential advantages of the lagoon system to develop sustainable aquaculture, building a value chain from farming, processing to consumption… linked with services, developing experiential tourism, lagoon tourism with local cultural experiences. Prioritizing the development of high-quality, organic, and VietGAP-certified agriculture, linked with the transformation of crop and livestock structures to suit local conditions, forming large-scale concentrated production areas with consumption linkages, developing a sustainable economy, and continuously improving the material and spiritual lives of the people is the dedication and responsibility that the Party Committee and people of Phu Ho will wholeheartedly commit to in the coming time,” Mr. Tran Kim Nhan shared.

Expected

This is the first term since Phu Ho commune was established through the merger of three communes: Phu Luong, Phu Xuan, and Phu Ho. According to the Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, Tran Kim Nhan, in order to leverage strengths and develop, Phu Ho must build a strong national unity, preserve and promote the tradition of solidarity and unity within the entire Party Committee, while upholding the spirit of self-reliance, self-improvement, dynamism, innovation, and creativity of cadres, Party members, and all strata of the people.

Over the next five years, with high aspirations as the commune is determined to transform itself strongly alongside Hue City, the economy will gradually shift from traditional agriculture to services and sustainable circular agriculture, creating a solid foundation for sustainable development. The criteria for New Rural Development will be maintained and improved in quality, aiming to build the commune to achieve "Advanced New Rural Development" standards. Social welfare will be improved, with better quality education, healthcare, and employment opportunities in the locality, ensuring that all citizens benefit from the fruits of development.

The implementation of resolutions, regional development plans, and investment in strategic city routes such as the Phu Ho New Urban Area and the road connecting Zone B - An Van Duong to Phu Vang commune will open up many opportunities for rapid and comprehensive development.

“To realize the aspiration for transformation in the new phase, it requires every cadre, Party member, and the entire people to continue to uphold revolutionary traditions, unite, strive, be dynamic and creative. Cadres and Party members, especially key officials, must thoroughly understand the policies, goals, and tasks of development to quickly implement them in practice and organize their implementation urgently and decisively. They must uphold the pioneering spirit, exemplary conduct, and the spirit of “daring to think, daring to act, daring to take responsibility, daring to innovate, daring to confront difficulties and challenges, and acting for the common good.” High consensus within the political system and throughout society is an important driving force creating the combined strength to successfully achieve the set goals and tasks, serving as a “guiding principle” for the period 2025-2030 and beyond,” said Tran Kim Nhan, Secretary of the Phu Ho Commune Party Committee.
