Bringing spring to every corner of the world.
In early February 2026, the border commune of A Dơi was bustling with activity. Amidst the characteristic chill of the highlands, the "Warm Spring - Reunion Tet" program, jointly organized by the Provincial Red Cross Society, was like a small flame warming people's hearts. To be here, officials from the Provincial Red Cross Society traveled over 200km of mountain roads, bringing gifts worth a total of 200 million VND.
At the "Zero-Cost Stall," the sight of elderly Van Kieu people smiling brightly upon receiving essential goods and quality household items touched everyone's hearts. Ho Thi Thu Hang, Secretary of the Party Committee of A Doi Commune, shared: "Currently, the lives of people in A Doi Commune are still facing many difficulties. These practical gifts and charitable activities not only help the people have a more fulfilling Tet holiday but also multiply their faith and hope."

Besides the border commune of A Dơi, in recent days, the charity convoy of officials and members of the Provincial Red Cross Society has also traveled to many other rural areas, bringing the joy of Tet to the poor. The convoy recently stopped at the Provincial Special Education School. There, 20 families of disabled students received gifts worth 10-15 million VND each. Officials from the Provincial Red Cross Society also provided financial support of 1 million VND per month to 10 particularly disadvantaged students. This support will last for one year. Holding her Tet gift, Dao Huyen Tran, a visually impaired student, expressed: “This year, my parents have money to buy Tet supplies and pay for my medicine. I’m so happy. Thank you to the officials and members of the Provincial Red Cross Society.”
Overcoming difficulties leads to a prosperous future.
Behind the meaningful charitable and social activities from the lowlands to the highlands lies the quiet presence of the officials and members of the Provincial Red Cross Society. To make these meaningful programs happen, they have worked outside of regular office hours. From reviewing lists and connecting with sponsors to preliminary work and carrying goods, their work keeps them busy, tirelessly but with great joy.
Sharing about her work, the Chairwoman of the Provincial Red Cross Society, Mai Thi Kim Nhung, confided that the Lunar New Year is the busiest and most challenging time for those working in the Red Cross, from the provincial level to the grassroots, but also the happiest. This hard work is evident in the constant trips to the grassroots, the worry of mobilizing resources, and the pressure of schedules… “All difficulties disappear when we see smiles on people’s faces. We will keep going because we know that many people out there need us,” Ms. Nhung affirmed.
According to Ms. Mai Thi Kim Nhung, the charitable and social activities during this year's Tet holiday are a complete continuation of the tireless efforts of the officials and members of the Provincial Red Cross Society over the past period, especially after Quang Tri and Quang Binh (formerly) were reunited. Amidst many changes, the officials of the society had to focus on consolidating the organization while maintaining good activities and movements. It is noteworthy that the spirit of the "Red Cross" remains ever vibrant.
With outstanding efforts, in 2025, the officials and members of the Provincial Red Cross Society jointly achieved many impressive results. The total value of humanitarian activities reached a record high of 113.8 billion VND. Red Cross branches at all levels in the province provided assistance to over 142,000 disadvantaged individuals. Quang Tri led the country in mobilizing support for the Cuban people with over 30 billion VND. Sustainable programs such as: "Cattle Bank," "Nutrition for Poor Children," "Safety for Fishermen," etc., have helped thousands of families escape poverty.
Keep the rhythm of compassion alive.
Looking back on the journey so far, Ms. Mai Thi Kim Nhung, President of the Provincial Red Cross Society, affirmed that the contributions of the officials and members are not limited to material value. What is significant is that they have inspired kindness within the community, becoming a reliable "bridge" for philanthropists. "Many philanthropists have come to us because they trust in our reputable, dedicated, and responsible officials and members. We will not let that trust down," Ms. Nhung shared.
Entering 2026, with the ambitious goal of supporting approximately 37,000 people during the Lunar New Year of the Horse and raising 19 billion VND for social welfare activities, these days, the "red-shirted warriors" are gearing up for a new journey. Everyone is determined to keep the rhythm of compassion beating in their hearts.
