The "Bun Huot Nam" water festival is a traditional New Year celebration of the Lao ethnic group in Nua Ngam commune, Dien Bien province, usually held in early April each year. It includes traditional ceremonies, followed by festivities featuring folk songs, Lam Vong dances, and traditional games. The water-throwing part is the central activity; the more people splash each other, the more luck and good fortune they are believed to bring.

The " Happy Vietnam 2026 " award is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and Vietnam Television.
The 2026 awards will continue to be held nationwide with two categories: photos and videos .
The submitted works will be judged in two rounds, preliminary and final, by a judging panel comprising reputable experts, journalists, photographers, and filmmakers, ensuring objectivity, transparency, and professional quality.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in the fourth quarter of 2026 in Hanoi and will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television.
