Le Phuong returns to the Secret Pact 2024 exhibition.

(CLO) The exhibition by artist Le Phuong is not just a gallery of paintings, but also a spiritual school where viewers can reflect, contemplate, and share the enduring "secret pacts" between art, heart, and spirituality.

From November 1st to 7th, the exhibition "Secret Promise 2024" by artist Le Phuong will be held at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum (66 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Ba Dinh, Hanoi ).

Artist Le Phuong is also known by the pen name Leo, having created illustrations and cartoons for newspapers and publishers under the pseudonym Leo since 2001.

Exhibition space "Secret Promise 2024"

In the field of painting, with her unique style and delicate brushstrokes, Le Phuong creates emotionally charged works that harmoniously blend abstraction and realism, captivating art enthusiasts.

Prior to this exhibition, artist Le Phuong had several group exhibitions, including: the Vietnam Fine Arts Association Members' Group Exhibition at 16 Ngo Quyen in 2014; the Spring Dinh Dau Group Exhibition at Van Ho Exhibition Center in 2017; the "5 New" Group Exhibition at 29 Hang Bai Exhibition Center in 2021; and the "Secret Promise" Duo Exhibition at 16 Ngo Quyen Exhibition Center in 2023. "Secret Promise 2024" is his first solo exhibition.

At the "Secret Promise 2024" exhibition, Le Phuong presented to the public 19 representative works from different creative periods during the time he shifted his artistic direction towards abstraction.

Through innovative experiments with unique techniques and materials, Le Phuong views the practice of painting as a spiritual practice, a way to purify the self and return to the purest roots of consciousness, to reflect on the imperfection of the human condition in existence, and to rediscover the wisdom that goes hand in hand with the aesthetics of the nation.

Artist Le Phuong shared that this exhibition contains some personal stories that have never been told before. It's not just a gallery of paintings, but also a spiritual sanctuary where viewers can reflect, contemplate, and share the enduring "secret pacts" between art, heart, and spirituality.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Thai, abstraction in Le Phuong's paintings leans heavily towards the hidden, inward-sinking, deliberately avoiding the outward expression of charm.

“The abstraction in Phuong’s paintings has reached an implicit aesthetic in every aspect – a kind of painting that provokes the deepest, hidden part of the viewer’s subconscious, which is not easily awakened. Starting with Phuong’s choice of painting titles, it already carries the profound meaning of the ephemeral flower in Trinh Cong Son’s music,” Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Thai commented.

According to artist Bang Si Truc, "Secret Pact 2024," or Le Phuong's journey back to the original cultural values, is a profound connection between the consciousness of reality and the spiritual world – where visual language plays the role of a symbol.

This artistic attitude reveals a philosophical sensibility as the artist transforms emotions into seemingly inanimate objects, a realm of contemporary art. Artist Le Phuong has had a fascinating experience, sparking reflections and perceptions about the nature of art, religion, and life.
