The 2026 high school graduation exam has been scheduled by the Ministry of Education and Training to take place on June 11th and 12th, about half a month earlier than in previous years.
According to information from the Ministry of Education and Training , the adjustment of the exam schedule aims to reduce the pressure of prolonged revision after the end of the school year, while also helping to save costs for students and their families.

The exam will be held over two days with core subjects including Mathematics, Literature, and one elective subject. According to the plan, the Ministry of Education and Training will announce the results of the 2026 high school graduation exam at 8:00 AM on July 1st. The graduation recognition process will be completed no later than July 3rd.

The Ministry of Education and Training will organize a trial online registration period for 12th-grade students on the Examination Management System from April 17th to April 21st.
Shortening the time between the end of the school year and the exam is one of the notable changes in the 2025-2026 school year plan.

The exam format remains unchanged.
In 2026, high school graduation exam candidates will take four exams, with Mathematics and Literature being compulsory. For the two elective subjects, candidates will choose from those they have studied in school (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economics and Law Education, Informatics, Agricultural Technology, Industrial Technology, and Foreign Language).
The exam is designed to assess competence, with an increased number of questions requiring the application of knowledge to practical situations.
Holding the high school graduation exam earlier has led to adjustments in the schedules of many other exams, especially the entrance exam for grade 10 in various localities.
Many provinces and cities have had to postpone or change the exam dates to avoid overlapping with the high school graduation exam, while also ensuring proper organization.
The high school graduation exam is a crucial national exam, serving both to certify graduation and as a basis for university admissions. Adjusting the exam schedule for 2026 is expected to reduce pressure on students while simultaneously improving the effectiveness of teaching and learning during the regular school year.
