Connecting the national labor market

On August 12th, in Binh Duong , the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (LĐ-TB&XH) collaborated with the Employment Department of the Ministry of LĐ-TB&XH to organize a seminar to discuss the development of a job exchange system.

According to Mr. Trinh Duc Tai, Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Binh Duong province, in recent years, the locality has created many jobs each year for workers in the province and workers from other provinces and cities; connecting and securing employment for approximately 35,000 workers annually.

Given the complex labor market situation amidst the current economic difficulties, Binh Duong is paying even more attention to solutions that connect labor supply and demand through job exchange activities.

According to Mr. Trinh Duc Tai, through the job exchange platform, the provincial labor sector closely monitors the situation of unemployed and reduced-working-hours workers in order to develop plans to connect labor supply and demand and support people in finding jobs.

The Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Binh Duong province stated: "Researching and proposing solutions to address employment issues and connect businesses and workers is essential."

Mr. Tai affirmed that, given the challenges of the digital transformation era and the unpredictable fluctuations in the current labor market and employment, the need to build and develop a flexible, modern, sustainable, and integrated labor market information system is essential for Binh Duong.

"Developing a job exchange system is one of the necessary measures, creating an important foundation in the development strategy of the labor and employment sector of Binh Duong in particular and the whole country in general in the current period," Mr. Trinh Duc Tai commented.

At the seminar, Mr. Ngo Xuan Lieu, Director of the National Center for Employment Services, stated: "Currently, there are approximately 500 job placement centers and businesses nationwide that provide human resources."

However, the job exchange has only basically met the supply and demand for labor in the past and has not had many other activities. According to Mr. Lieu, it is now time to innovate the job exchange.

He said: "Job exchanges need to be innovative, changing both in form and quality to cater to a wider range of people and meet the needs of businesses and workers."

Mr. Vu Trong Binh emphasized: "Currently, labor supply and demand, and job exchanges are not truly connected between provinces, cities, the central government, and localities. The task for the sector is to build a job exchange model that ensures interconnectedness and links the labor market between provinces and cities nationwide and internationally, while also ensuring legal compliance."
