Leaked images show the iPhone 17 Air being compared in terms of thinness with the Galaxy S25 Edge.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Leaked images show that the iPhone 17 Air boasts an impressively thin design, surpassing even the Galaxy S25 Edge, currently Samsung's thinnest phone.

Last May, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 Edge, the company's thinnest phone to date, with a thickness of just 5.8mm. It seems Samsung has started the ultra-thin smartphone war, and Apple, not wanting to be outdone, will soon release the iPhone 17 Air, the thinnest iPhone ever.

Previous leaks indicated that the iPhone 17 Air is only 5.5mm thick, meaning it's 0.3mm thinner than the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Recently, a series of comparison photos between the Galaxy S25 Edge and a complete prototype of the iPhone 17 Air have been shared on social media, showcasing the impressive thinness of both products.

Leaked images show that both products have camera modules that are significantly thicker than the body. The iPhone 17 Air is indeed slightly thinner than the Galaxy S25 Edge, contrary to leaked information, but the difference is not too large and is very difficult to notice with the naked eye.

However, Apple will have to make many compromises to achieve the slimness of the iPhone 17 Air. Leaked information suggests that the product will only be equipped with a modest 2,800mAh battery, significantly lower than the 3,900mAh battery in the Galaxy S25 Edge.

According to several sources, Apple is developing artificial intelligence features on the iOS 26 platform to optimize applications, helping to extend battery life on the iPhone 17 Air. However, with a capacity of only 2,800mAh, it is unlikely that the iPhone 17 Air can operate continuously for a full day.

Furthermore, the iPhone 17 Air only has a single rear camera due to a lack of space for components, while the Galaxy S25 Edge still features a dual-camera setup, including a 200-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.

In terms of specifications, the iPhone 17 Air is rumored to feature a 6.6-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Apple's latest A19 processor, and 12GB of RAM. Due to its extremely thin design, Apple has also had to remove the SIM card slot and only include a single earpiece speaker on the iPhone 17 Air.

It remains unclear which target audience the iPhone 17 Air will actually aim for. Will customers be willing to spend a large sum of money to own an ultra-thin iPhone, but lacking important features such as a multi-lens camera, low battery capacity, and only a single external speaker?

Information about the iPhone 17 Air is currently just rumors. The truth about this ultra-thin iPhone will be revealed on September 9th, when Apple holds a special event to launch the new iPhone 17 series.
